Bio

The ability to be transcendent has long been a staple of longevity in Hip-Hop. The culture itself has defied genre in every way imaginable, permeating everything from music to fashion to entertainment. iSojah embodies this diversity, bringing a multifaceted talent to the game that sets him apart from his peers. Emcee, producer, entertainer, and budding entrepreneur, iSojah seeks to exceed the definition of any one category, aiming for versatility and truth in his music and, most of all, growth. His true grit for hard work and determination to excel has brought him from rough beginnings to being the opening act for artists such as Raekwon, Royce da 5’9, Krayzie Bone, Cory Gunz, and Ray Cash. He performed in front of Def Jam at the iStandard showcase, placing second – the only Hip Hop artist to place in the competition at all. He has been written about by Columbus Alive and The Hip Hop Speakeasy and is hailed as one of the best lyricists coming out of Columbus, Ohio.

At twenty-two he dropped his first mixtape, “Hip Hop Is Vol. 1,” under the name Yungg Soja and secured recognition in his city. Mentors Jai Carey and DJ BHB were instrumental in helping him to gain notoriety as a new emcee in Columbus, keeping him out of trouble and giving him opportunities to perform on many stages. His sister’s support, guidance, and tough love instilled in him a competitive edge and desire to be the best at what he does. Through the years he would hone his craft, releasing more polished music and becoming known at various venues around the state for his lyrical prowess, high energy performances, and ability to move a crowd. He began working with and producing for artists such as Kei Mari, Turnz, Young Truph, and Zavion. He started Klasik Media, a brand that focused on nurturing talented individuals in music, fashion, and entertainment, and joined founder/CEO Diggy Dulche at indie label, Empire Entertainment. He eventually shed the youthful moniker, Yungg Soja, opting for iSojah instead, a name he felt solidified his transformation as a person and versatile artist. On October 25th, 2014, he released “iSojah Project,” a body of music that showcased his flexibility as an emcee and songwriter, and his ability to create songs outside the realm of Hip-Hop.

iSojah’s story is far from over, but his success thus far has proved him to be a transcendent individual with the ability to move mountains despite their breadth. Injecting substance, truth and inspiration into his music through the pain of his past has already garnered him a reputation for touching the hearts of the masses through electric performances and relatable messages. He is already accomplishing goals that were realized as a young kid crafting rhymes and studying the art of Hip-Hop, and he is just getting started.
