This isn’t your average FPS. Unlike most shooters where you’re mindlessly mowing down terrorists, Nazis, zombies, or zombie Nazis, Homefront ($60) aimes to make you want to kill the bad guys, by placing you in the shoes of a near-future American, who joins a rebellion against occupation by a unified Korea. Set against the backdrop of a U.S. decimated by economic collapse, and with a down-to-earth story crafted in part by Apocalypse Now penman John Milius, it’s a nice respite from the endless stream of Halos, Medal of Honors, and their ilk.
