Purify (Formerly known as Favor) is a Public Speaker, Lyricist, Actress, Singer-Songwriter, Poet, & Activist & Follower of YAH. A Native Washingtonian, she began writing at the age of fourteen. Her First poem was entitled “Young Black Woman.” Since then Purify has written over 300 songs, raps, & poems, and has performed at more than 50 venues, including the World Famous “Apollo Theatre”. Purify was the Opening Act for Broadway’s Own and R&B Recording Artist Elisabeth Withers (Suge Avery in “The Color Purple”) , and also opened for Def Comedy Jam’s Own Comedian Michael Brooks (now Host of 95.5 Fm DC Radio). She was a Feature in the Movie “Stomp the Yard 2” & She was the feature Poet for the “Women United to Help Others” Conference, held by the 1st Lady of PG County Leslie Johnson (wife of PG County Executive Jack Johnson), with over 600 in attendance. Purify was also the feature Poet in 2007 & 2008 on Joe’s Place 96.3FM WHUR (Howard University Radio), and followed up with her 1st CD entitled “Real Life Circumstances,” which has sold over 600 copies throughout the Washington Metropolitan area alone. Purify is the Co-Author/Feature Poet in “100 Customer Appreciation Tips for Stylist, Barbers, & Salon Owners.” She has been known to move her crowd towards change, growth, and pursuing their passion. Her next CD entitled “Broken Pieces” is sure to cause you look at the truth about relationships, yourself, and inspire you to achieve success without letting anything or anyone get in the way. Purify’s next CD will be a collaboration of poetry, song, rap, behind a jazz/soul/contemporary fusion, and pure listening enjoyment. Her life is a testement to the lyrics that she has written for for over a decade. Purify currently resides in Washington, DC working on Speaking Engagements, a CD compilation, biography, and Poetry Book.
