Earl Bowers, who prefers to be called Mikey, is from Baltimore, Md. He was born March 13, 1982 in Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was given that name by his now deceased mother before he was born, due to him eating everything in sight. So therefore that’s the name he holds dear to his heart. Growing up in a single parent household after his parents split, Mikey realized he had to do something to overcome adversity. After his mom passed away in 1994, the pressures of raising his two sisters were thrown on his undeveloped and immature shoulders. Mikey, who then went to the streets for financial gain and friendship, found himself just another statistic like several uncles and male cousins in his family. After also spending a couple of years in a Hagerstown jail cell, Mikey’s mind finally came to reality. Mikey read books just to past the time. But he read and understood these books at a very high speed. He would read a whole book in about 2 hours. The same books that would take other inmates 2 days or longer to read. Following in his mothers’ footsteps, he found a love for reading and writing and begin to write a book that he never published as planned. But one day going through his old notes, he read it and vowed to do something with his work. So he disciplined himself and wrote his first script titled” Who Can U Trust?” He believed in himself but even more put his money where his mouth was and didn’t wait on any investors. Mikey plays the role of a character named Gudda in the film. He also co-directed “Who Can You Trust?” with the help of David Manigult of Billionaire Films. It’s scheduled for a summer 2011 release. Also from this situation an entertainment company was formed by the name of Stay Focused Ent LLC.
