A place known for its dominance on the hardwood, North Carolina isn’t thought of as a home for Hip-Hop Music. Many people dream of rapping on stage in front of thousands, but few actually make it a reality. What separate the two types is their persistence and their hustle. With that said STATS is back to deliver his sophomore EP iGRIND.
STATS released his new EP iGRIND off his label Real Image Entertainment on August 27th 2010. The EP has sold out twice at a local idependent store.
STATS coins his new EP “Motivational Music.” Aggressive instrumentals blended with an electric delivery. On the title track STATS tells us his struggles about getting rejected at clubs and naysayers telling him he had no chance in Hip-Hop. On the inspirational song “iTRAP” STATS gives us a story of three people who fall victim to their surroundings. One of the three beats the odds of his unfortunate situation and becomes a role model for others. This EP gives the game much needed flavor to a genre that has become stale.
Unlike other artists who tell their story how they got to the top. STATS shows you how he is grinding to make a name for himself. To go along with his new EP, STATS created ReelFootageTV. This web series shows the struggles of an up and coming artist breaking in to the business. “You always see people at the top and you wonder how they got there. Well I thought it would be great for people to see what an artist goes through because it’s not a fairy tale story.” He is also credited with a song on the Indy Film “An Explicit View of an Artist & His Ambitious Soul.”
In addition to his new EP and web series, STATS is taking his entrepreneur savvy to the clothing industry. He is gearing up to launch a clothing line in 2011. He has already begun writing his next project which is slated to be released in 2011. With so many projects going on STATS definitely lives up to the title iGrind.
