Bio

No idle time for Smooth Style Entertainment’s Michael Wright, Sr. You will never catch him sitting around twiddling his thumbs, waiting for his artist to hit that number one spot! Daily, he works toward his ultimate goal – to have an entertainment company that births industry legends and makes a mark on the community. He is a visionary, still a guy with a heart, which, well…beats, pulsating, contagious R & B, Gospel, Hip/Hop and Rap beats. What fuels him he says is clear, “I care about people and love what music is capable of doing.” His first management project was back in 1992 — a female R & B group dubbed, “Very Special.” Indeed they were three cousins, singing and dancing. And though the group later disbanded, Wright identified the cause, misplaced passion. “If you are driven only by the limelight and fame, you will die — faster.” As a manager Michael is like a firefighter, putting out small fires, rescuing artists from searing static lyrics, and shouldering them to safety — to success. As a producer, he always urges artists to be sponges, be quiet and listen. Effective, he knows for sure, because he learned best that way. Having worked with reputable artist, management, and entertainment companies, Michael prides himself in developing business relationships. Michael’s networking and skills have taken him to places such as Memphis, TN, Chicago, IL, St. Louis, MO, Gary and Indianapolis, IN and to the networking streets of Atlanta, GA. Michael says he’s looking to make his mark and presents known by focusing on branding, developing a solid reputation and garnering support. When his artists or potential artists cannot be, he is faithful, determined and focused; forcing them to remove their self-imposed roadblocks and distractions. Like the great Don Cornelius, his parting words are straightforwardly relevant, “If you dream it, your heart tells you can and you believe it; make it happen. Don’t sleep on it.”
