Bio

Born Glenn Lamar Miles II in Atlanta, GA, Sir Glen grew up called “Lamar” by his mother and father who raised him and his two sisters in Decatur, GA. Sir Glen fondly remembers summers spent at his grandparent’s house in Tifton, GA. In fact, he attributes his laid back demeanor and humble personality to his time there. Growing up in the south, he also developed a deep understanding of America’s cultural and racial divides. After his parents’ divorce, Sir Glen began expressing deep frustration about the split through writing. At the age of nine, he put his words to music and began rapping.
At the age of 16, he recorded his first song called “Takeover” in a makeshift studio using some old DJ recording equipment. The track brought accolades from his peers, and he, for the first time, thought that he may have potential as a recording artist. Still, he shied away from pursing a music career to pursue the more “acceptable” goal of a college degree.
After graduating high school in 2005, Sir Glen attended Morehouse College where he continued to write and record music as a hobby until graduation. Sir Glen eventually went to work as a personal assistant and legislative aide for a Member of the U.S. Congress, and, self-admittingly “fell off”, going nearly 1 ½ years without writing any new music. This changed when Sir Glen wrote a song called “Our Love” after major fallout with his then live-in girlfriend; however, it wasn’t until his cousin passed away at the age of 26 that Sir Glen seriously began to pursue a career as a recording artist. “Losing my cousin at such a young age helped me to realize the fragility of life, and I made the decision to do what I love whether the world approves of it or not.”
Sir Glen has done just that. His unshakable confidence, combined with his passion for writing, recording, and performing has driven him to pursue his dream despite societal perceptions.
“We all have dreams as children, but these dreams often fade as quickly as they emerge…being a recording artist is the one dream that never left me. I may have been temporarily distracted by the daily routines of life from time-to-time, but this little voice inside of me kept saying that this is what I was born to do. It eventually got so loud that I couldn’t ignore it anymore, so I decided to listen.”
Sir Glen’s style is smooth and witty with a distinct southern flare. His content ranges from political, to personal, to “feel good,” which makes him relatable to a wide audience. He relies on storytelling and hard hitting punch lines to create a vivid image for his audience to enjoy. While he has yet to achieve mainstream status, you can guarantee to expect big things from Sir Glen in the very near future.
