Bio

Sandrinette is a female artist based in Halifax, NS. She has been rapping for the past 12 years, but started out with an interest in singing. This female artist writes music mostly inspired by life experiences. She was born in Sévres, France, to Congolese parents, but grew up in Nairobi, Kenya. Her family immigrated to Ottawa, ON in December of 2002.
Sandrinette moved to Toronto, ON in 2008 to work on her music, recording at Sound Resolve Studios and Cherry Beach Sound Studios. She says that living in different continents, and being from a different background has positively influenced her artistic creativity.
She believes that lyrical content is key to making memorable music. “The more you know about the world, the more conscience you become when writing music,” she says.
Although music is her first love, education has always been a priority for this female artist.
Sandrinette graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2008 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts with specialization in Communication. She also recently graduated from the University of King’s College, obtaining a Bachelor of Journalism.
Her other passions include exercising, dancing, and filmmaking. She enjoys documentaries that bring awareness to social issues. She is currently working on new music and ideas for new stories to tell. Sandrinette is greatly influenced by the sounds of Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Nas, and Foxy Brown.
