Rapid Traxx is a music producer and rap artist. He started his career in 1996 as a producer and rap artist for the Houston Rap group “Darkside Mafia”. He was originally known as “Predator”. His rap style was extremely fast, and his production style was horrorcore. After the breakup of darkside mafia in 1998, Rapid Traxx then changed his name to Mystic Child. He still wanted people to know he was still into horrorcore music, but was no longer affiliated with DSM. He recieved his 1st record deal with Flawless Records in 1998. His contract ran out in less than a year, as the label suffered from financial difficulties, and released him from his contract. Rapid Traxx who was at the time “Mystic Child” befriended South Park Mexican, and was a frequent face at Dope House Records. Rapid was also a member of the rap group Tre-5 in Houston. During this time Rapid who was known as Mystic Child then became a producer for Jam Down Entertainment. Jam Down also suffered from financial instability, and Rapid started his own label named “Profound Records”. Rapid then changed his name to Roland XP, which was part of his real name, and he wanted to reflect that he was more of a producer, and he was pretty much done with horrorcore rap. His label also suffered financial problems, and his personal life as well. His parents wanted to move away from Houston, and Rapid had no choice but to go as well. He signed the label over to his friend “Pimp J”, and left for Florida. Rapid continued making music, but started to put music on the backburner. He kept making beats and songs, but only really kept them to himself. Rapid moved to Dallas, and tried to get his music going again, and could not get things poppin like he had in Houston. In 2004, Rapid sold his XP60 keyboard and multitrack recorder, and took a 4 year break from music. He still made some beats with a demo version of Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, but relegated music to hobby status for 4 years. Rapid who was going by Roland XP at the time, then moved to Kansas City, and then Rapid City,SD. Roland XP aka Rapid Traxx decided to give music another shot, especially with the internet music game poppin, and with all the social networking sites that have started up, he felt he could get his music finally heard by the general public. He then decided on a new name to let ppl know he’s in Rapid City, and he makes beats. Thus the name Rapid Traxx is born. Rapid started getting his studio together, and started bringing the sound that gave him so much success, and caught the ears of major labels in Houston, to the City of Rapid City, SD. Plus Rapid has started back rapping again in 2010, and is now bringing the sound that took over Southeast Houston, to the 605.
