Bio

Quion was born and raised in the greater Boston area of Massachusetts. As a youth, he was a star athlete who had a strong passion for music. His athletic ability afforded him the opportunity to play on the collegiate level, but after a couple of years, he realized his love for making music was stronger than his love for being a student athlete. So he left school early to pursue a career in the music industry.

With humble beginnings that emerged from a recording studio he built piece by piece in his apartment, Quion started producing, writing, and performing original music as a solo artist, while also producing talent from his neighborhood. Quion’s success was challenged by a string of unfortunate circumstances: He lost two artists to homicide, and one to prison. Quion leveraged the adversity in his favor. He continued to study the music industry, and invest in his home studio. He produced, mixed, manufactured and marketed four albums and sold over 50,000 units on his own. Over the years, he honed his talents into a conglomerate of prolific producing, songwriting, and engineering that progressed into the QueTone Music Group: an independent record label that is home to a host of assorted recording artists with diverse musical styles and talents who include CHAMPIONZ (Hip Hop/R&B), JENNA RUBY (Pop/Rock/Actress), SHAKE SPEAR (Hip Hop/Model/Actor), EPI (Hip Hop), RBG (R&B) DARIUS (Hip Hop) and RIDGEWAY (Hip Hop). Quion carefully selected and developed his roster of multi-talented artists.

Quion’s unique production talents created Quetone’s signature sound. Under his leadership and production acumen, Quion produced and co-wrote, manufactured and marketed, all of the Company’s independent releases including Dirty Business (MA to NC) hosted by DJ Barry Bee; “The Take Over” Album Series (3 disc volume set) hosted by Wally Sparks; and “The Sound Track To Getting Paid” hosted by DJ Big Mike. His grassroots marketing campaigns began by selling his company’s music and merchandise on the streets going state to state. His promotional crusade has evolved into a viral expansion including a company website, an e-commerce store (which sells the company’s catalogue and merchandise). The CHAMPIONZ will soon be releasing an exclusive EP Manufactured and distributed by Bluepie that is also produced by Quion. The Quetone Music website has received more than 100,000 hits; on Quion’s MySpace, there has been over a million plays. Quion also has had music placement with DiBella Entertainment out of New York City for their television programming which airs on HBO and Fox Sports Network following a management deal between Quion and Lou DiBella of DBE1.

Since forming CHAMPIONZ, the group has performed at UMass Boston; the Mill in Southbridge, Ma; the Palladium in Worcester, MA; the Middle East and the Western Front venues in Cambridge, Ma; Hood Stock in Virginia; A&T Home Coming at Bentley’s in Greensboro, NC; the Peace Boston Tour and the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT: these venues are just a sampling of their performances. Quion won a contest run by Boston’s Jam’n 94.5 to open for Wu Tang Clan and was interviewed by on-air personality Gee Spin for 94.5’s Launch Pad program. Additionally, the CHAMPIONZ won Hip Hop/R&B song of the year for their song “Rescue Me” at the 40th edition of the GBOS Awards held annually in Boston. The group has been nominated for the eMusic Award in the Hip Hop R&B category. The group launched its Take Over Tour with DMX, Jeremih, Corte Ellis (Universal/Motown), Anthony Williams, and hosted by on-air personality DJ Pup Dawg of Jamn 94.5. Jamn 94.5 has and continues to support Quion and the CHAMPIONZ on their mix show “The Launch Pad”. The Take Over Tour took place at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA and was arranged, funded and presented by Quetone Music.

Quion is a perceptive businessman and a prolific producer who you can count on to bring the best creativity out of aspiring artists and professionals alike. He has integrity, perseverance and humility, and passionately lives, breaths and loves what he does in the music industry. Quion has discovered and developed a talented group of artists who possess charismatic personalities with magnetic mass appeal. With such a strong roster and self-contained production, Quion with Quetone Music Group is fast establishing itself as an entertainment industry Power House!
