Poetry, whose name stands for, pouring out experiences to reach you, spends her entire walk ministering the Gospel to all ages.

“As an woman of God I have an obligation to preach the gospel and witness to the people of all nations, creed, or color. I want the people to know that there is a God and we have a choice to either live for him or live for this world,”said Poetry in her official bio.

“My obligation is to build the Kingdom of God through my song writing skills without fear of what’s expected out of me from this world.”

Poetry was born on the southside of Saint Louis, and raised in Jennings, Poetry was always self confident in her endevors to put forth whatever her mind was set out to do, says her mother, Rosalyn Travis, she was always singing and rapping even as a child growing up. Her path came to Christ at an early age of 18 when she was filled with the Holyghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Which started her movement to becoming an gospel artist.

Poetry is a woman of great integrity, commitment and deep understanding to the view points of the people. And serves faithfully each day her ministry responsibilities.

“What’s important to me is that the souls are saved and the brokenhearted are healed and the people understand that they are not alone and that we must work towards perfection because we will make mistakes. But as long as we don’t give up on our walk with God we won’t fail.”
