Bio | Pershard Owens is a soulful singer, songwriter and recording artist out of St. Louis MO, with a vocal style and sound that falls somewhere between the sultry dulcet crooning of Seal and the soaring falsetto of Russell Thompkins Jr. (of the Stylistics) with shades of the Black Eyed Peas – basically, sexy, soulful emo-pop/R&B with modern beats. Pershard started singing at the age of five at Ollie Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and since that time he has performed on a multitude of stages, once having the opportunity to sing with the iconic Jennifer Hudson. Inspired by such artists as Frankie Beverly and Maze, Aretha Franklin, Tina Marie, Donny Hathaway and the Stylistics, he also cites influence from Bruno Mars, Queen B and Kanye West. Pershard’s creative partnership with manager and Prestro Records CEO Michael Pettiford has already produced two singles and cinematically themed videos, and plans are currently in the works for several more.
