O.g. da K.I.D.D born Lucas LaVante Harvey in Gainesville, GA on March 29, 1988 is an unsigned rapper/singer/songwriter. At an early age it was apparent that O.g. da K.I.D.D was destined to be a performer. At the age of five he began singing his church choir where it became quite evident the spotlight is where he belonged. Being exposed to criticism at such an early age opened the floodgates to O.g.’s creativity. His outgoing personality helped him develop relationships that would help him later in his career. With his foster mother being the choir director he began singing before he started rapping. At 9 years old he began studying the lyrics of songs he enjoyed listening to which lead to his interest in songwriting. O.g. always had an interest in rap and r&b, influenced by artists such as Michael Jackson, Faith Evans, MC Lyte, T.I., Field Mob, Biggie, Usher, Jagged Edge, Black Street, 2Pac, Jay Z, Nas, and Lil Wayne.
At age 10 he wrote and recorded (on cassette) his first rap inspired by being jumped after school and from then on his focus turned to developing as a rapper. Not long after he joined up with a local known group called TNC (Top Notch Clique).
O.g. da K.I.D.D.’s love for music completely took charge of his life. He picked up playing piano by ear at the age of 14. He dabbled with every instrument he could get his hands on. He found that he had a natural gift to be able to master whatever instrument he wanted, his problem was he could never stay with one long enough. Ultimately leaving him only mastering the piano and drums.
O.g. da K.I.D.D has continued to develop as an artist by completely devoting himself to getting to the next level with his music. He is no stranger to hard work when he’s not working his two jobs he’s writing or in the studio working with other artists that share his passion and devotion to music. He will tell you that at the current position in His career his main focus is networking, “I have to go out and get my music out there to the people, because nobody’s going to take you seriously, if you don’t, and I need the people’s feedback, because they’re the ones that fuel your career.”
With his undying passion and devotion to making himself better, there is no doubt that “O.g. da K.I.D.D” will soon be a household name. The combination of his soulful singing voice and in your face rap style definitely sets him apart from other artists in the game right now.
