My name is Ebonee Richardson, but most people know me as “Mz. EPiQ” which is the pseudonym that I do music under. Contrary to popular belief, I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, but have southern roots. As far back as I can remember I’ve always loved music and had a passion for it. My family is a musical family, full of singers…but I wanted to be different. I liked singing, and could also write, but I had an innate ability and passion to create the sound. I always wanted to bang on things and make up my own beats, which actually gained praise from my peers and family members.

Upon receiving a keyboard for Christmas around my 7th grade year, my godfather Aaron Pernell, noticed my ability, not only to play other people’s music by ear, but also to create my own melodies. He had an old keyboard (Yamaha PSR-640) that he had used to make beats on and started showing me how to do the same. And as the saying goes, “The rest was history.”

I’m 24 now and I’ve grown, developed and explored so many different things as a musician, creating my own unique style that continues to grab the attention of passersby.
While still working hard and improving, I’ve managed to gain the respect and support of many fellow beat makers, producers, singers etc., and have collaborated on a few projects with local peers. I’ve also been blessed with the chance to meet and hand CD’s to some of my favorite musicians, including my favorite producer, Timbaland.
