Bio

Jalil Hassan Rasheed (born March 18, 1985), better known by his stage name Million$ Of Power, is an American Independent Hip-Hop and R&B Recording Artist, Songwriter and Record Producer from Cincinnati, Ohio. Million$ Of Power was born in a Taxi Cab on the way to the Suffolk Hospital in Huntington, New York (Long Island). His father was a notorious drug dealer and his mother was a prostitute who suffered from drug abuse. At the age of 4 years, his father attempted to evade capture by the police so Mill$ and his family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he was initially raised by an Aunt on his fathers side of the family – the family later separated, bouncing around from house to house due to his mother and his fathers simultaneous incarcerations. Mill$ was reunited with his father after 6 years and even after her release, he did not see his mother again until he was almost a young teenager.

Mill$ was born an illustrator; he didn’t start writing and rapping until the age of 13. His love for writing was inspired by spoken word artists Malik Yusef, based in Chicago, Illinois and Saul Williams, based in Newburgh, New York. He knew he wanted to become a Rapper after being introduced to the musical stylings of Hip-Hop Recording Artists such as Biggie Smalls, Big L., GuRu, Scarface, Percy P., Lauren Hill, Rah Digga, Busta Rhymes, WuTang, The Lost Boys, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Talib Kweli and Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch, Camp Lo, Snoop Dogg, Beanie Sigel, Jay-Z, NaS, Master P., OutKast and the Dungeon Family and his all time favorite, Tupac Shakur. Becoming serious about being a Hip-Hop Recording Artist or a Rapper didn’t seem to be a priority for Mill$ until over a decade later.

Soon after his 20th or 21st birthday; after moving from Brooklyn, New York and back to Cincinnati, Ohio his father was incarcerated for a second time, leaving 2 of his younger siblings helpless and homeless. He was able to take on the responsibility of supporting his brother and sister by working a full time position at a local fast-food chain and a security company, and earning some additional money working odd jobs through a temp agency. He later attended a private college with the intent of becoming a Graphic Designer however he graduated (with honors) with a degree in Graphic Design and Information Technology. His sole purpose for attending college was never to graduate and acquire employment; it was to acquire skills that would enable him to lower the cost of becoming an independent recording artist. Upon graduating he hooked up with a local music group, but he almost immediately decided that being a solo artist was the path he needed to take.

Million$ Of Power first received recognition in 2006, following the release of his debut demo-tape “KINGSHIT”. KINGSHIT only featured 1 intro, 5 full length songs and an outro, but to this day his day one fans still request copies of that project. More recently Mill$ received his first official recognition in 2015, following the release of his debut mixtape-album “I Ain’t JESUS” hosted by D.J. Trub. Shortly before the release of “I Ain’t JESUS”, Million$ was contacted by American Disc Jockey and former 101.1 WIZ FM Radio Personality D.J. Trub and subsequently joined Team Trub Muzik in 2015. In that same year, Million$ Of Powers and D.J. Trub hosted a Listening and Album Release Party @ The LOFT (above Tickets Sports Bar) located in downtown Covington, Kentucky and took over the mothafuckin world!
