| Bio | Micah started writing at 14 years of age in the early years of grime with early influences such as So Solid, More Fire, Kano, Dizzee Rascal etc. He says, “In the days of Garage/Grime, I thought strong lyrical content was something that was missing. This is a feature I worked hard on by channeling my love of Hip-Hop inspired by artists like Nas, Ludacris, DMX, Tupac and Big L.” Micah’s school provided him with the materials where he could frequently practice his lyricist content and skills, though later whe ould find myself in several youth centres and by 16 he had already recorded his first song called ‘Wannabees’. It was an achievement at the time, but for him listening to it now he knows he has improved tenfold. In 2007, he released his first EP called ‘EastBeast’ in 2007 for free. Overall, it received very good feedback and it gave him a chance to study himself more as an artist. Between 2008 & 2009, he gave music a huge break as it was much needed for him to figure out where his musical journey was taking him, both as an artist and as a young man surrounded by London’s rat race. The summer of 2010 saw him release his second free EP entitled, ‘Had 2 Be Said’. This album also received a great response with little promotion and support, however in 2011 he has recently released the third CD called ‘Revival’ and is now preparing himself for a busy 2012!! Micah’s music could be described as honest and with the thought of average people in mind! So no matter the age, gender, occupation or lifestyle he openly discusses situations and emotions that others may feel uncomfortable and maybe even embarrassed to talk about. He understands the power and liberation that is gained through spoken word and its lyrics. |
