Meaty hails from NE Ohio, raised in a small steel town named Youngstown. At the age of 8 he was performing for friends and family and landed his first major performance in front of every student in the city. A lot of time would pass before Meaty could capitalize on his early success. Due to lack of equipment or studio personnel willing to buy into his dream he was forced to find his own funds and that he did amassing close to a mil in a couple years. From there him and his younger sister, a recent graduate of Butler University, created True Baller Records, in honor of his sisters basketball and academic achievements throughout life. Still on his grind and unable to totally focus towards music Meaty formed a group with some of his co-workers and a friend back home. This group would take on the legendary “Commission” name that the Legendary Notorious B.I.G, and Shawn “Jay-Z’ Carter dreamed of doing before BIG’s untimely death. They quickly recorded their first mixtape in a hotel while training, and with plans to continue the series they split, not because of differences but because of necessity. As Meaty was quoted as saying, ” The Commission is here, my people’s just handling their business over in Afghanistan, and I’m hold it down here until they are home”.
