| Bio | Marantz Ali`as Moon was born November 29th, 1989 at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL. He had a gateway between two worlds, the city of Chicago and the south suburbs, between his father and his mother. Ali`as began rapping at the age of twelve, highly inspired by Dr. Dre, Nas, Wu Tang Clan, Eminem, Bump J and Master P. He originally began recording on an eight track recorder, as a young pre teen in his mother’s apartment. What began as a childish hobby, grew into an ambitious dream. As Ali`as grew from a boy into a young man, he began to sharpen his lyrical abilities and hip-hop knowledge. He eventually took the road less traveled by his hip-hop peers and went to college at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. There he was exposed to a vast amount of art, culture and inspiration. A year before Ali`as graduated in 2013, he created his most recent project which was titled Drunk Mind Sober Thought (DMST), The Truth in the Heart. This body of work captured the transition from all of his trials and tribulations in his life thus far. Following this project Ali`as has released Regret a short film and sound track. Regret is just as intoxicating as The Truth in the Heart. The project is a testament to heartbreak and his journey through an emotional roller coaster of various regrets. Ali`as is now based out of the North Side of Chicago and more work is to come upon the close of 2016, into 2017. 2017, Ali`as has recently released his debut digital album ( Currency Exchange) available for stream & download on various platforms. His mission statement as an artist is to create timeless music that motivates and captures the truth and reality of life. |
