William “Malachai” Johns also known as “Redds” is a Manager/Producer/Musician/Entrepreneur and veteran of the DC Go – Go scene, playing lead guitar for bands like Northeast Groovers, SOULO, The What band and with bands like Backyard and Optimystic Trybe. In 2003 he jumped into management as creator of the Go – Go crossover group, Mambo Sauce. Mambo Sauce had 2 singles hit the Billboard Hop Hop & R&B Charts. Their second single, “Welcome to DC” became the intro song for the Washington Wizards, Mystics, Nationals and Capitals sports teams and featured a video that enjoyed rotation on VH1 Soul, MTV Jams, MTV2, BET & BETJ.Formed in 2011, his new company 7070 Group LLC represents his new group Lipstick & Congas and in 2013 he formed 7070 Agency to book other bands that may not be managed by 7070 Group.

Johns, a cancer survivor has also worked in concert and event promotion with Vootie Productions and with his own company Malfunktions. He has also worked in radio at 97.5 KVEG in Las Vegas and WPGC 95.5 in Washington DC. In 2013, Johns was elected to sit on the Board of Governors for the DC Chapter of the Recording Academy (Grammys) for a second term and is also currently the Entertainment Manager at Maryland Live! Casino.
