Born and raised in the streets of Brooklyn NY, Matt Allen also known as M.A. DaZombie was raised around music all his life. M.A. related to many of the rappers of his generation including Biggie, Jay-z and loved the poetic story telling style of MC’s such as Slick Rick the Ruler. The first time M.A. grabbed a microphone was at a block party on St. Marks, immediately falling in love with the word play and punch lines that would move the crowed and make people laugh. Although this event created a new love for music in his heart, M.A. decided to remain with his original plan to continue with school and focus on sports. Soon after starting college M.A. bumped into local producer D.Cutter, who had a small studio which consisted of a small computer mic and speakers, but would draw many of the local rappers every Thursday due to the atmosphere of competition and frequency of local hits that came from his studio. This is where M.A. decided to mold his craft going by the name of Matt Murder, M.A. started out as a battle rapper. With his hard punch lines and clever delivery technique, M.A. quickly began to stand out as one of the most impressive artist in the group, along with Flow Dubs. After developing a unique style of his own M.A. started performing at local showcases and open mic contest, which allowed M.A. to make a name for him-self and at the same time build the confidence and courage needed to take his rap career to the professional level.
