Bio

Talented, upcoming music artist, Theodore Vaughn also well-known as JGunz was born to Theodore and Velda Vaughn on January 14th,1987 in Beaver, Pennsylvania. Growing up in the small town of Midland, PA I was introduced to the sounds of Hip Hop and R&B music at an early age. From hearing the voices of MC’s such as Tupac, DMX, Nas, Ice Cube, Mystical and the soulful voices of Gladys Knight, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, and Monica just to name a few I had produced a significant interest in the world of music. While attending Neel Elementary School I would exhibit my musical talents through dance and rap lyrics. Even back then I had taken music seriously. Although I gained a love for music I had no idea how much of an impact it would have on my life as the years would progress. A few short years later I had to take on life changing situations that challenged me from the first instance. The first event was the loss of a younger brother in his infancy while I was at the tender age of seven. Not much of a short time after I lost sight of both of my parents. My father had begun to get physical against my mother and began missing in action. Shortly after, my mother obtained a drug habit. With my life going into a downward spiral I was picked up and put into a better surrounding thanks to my late grandmother Lovate Craft. With the instability of my parents I still managed to get good grades in school and stay on a positive track. Years later my mother was getting her life back on track and decided to move my brothers’ and I to Erie, Pennsylvania. Here in Erie I attended East High School until I graduated in 2005. The city was a lot different than what I was initially used to and had a lot of negative activities for teenagers to get into but again I took to my music. I had made friends with people who shared my interest in music. During my time in high school I had started a group called the Take Ova. My group would meet up in my basement after class or any other days and I would record for them and myself. Of course I had also taken an interest in learning how to make my own beats and record effectively in a domestic living space, so I had made my own recording booth and wired my basement in the manor to compliment the work space. I taught myself how to use the program Friuty Loops and just advanced from there. I believe my style of rap is different I’ve always been able to detail my life and transform it through my lyrics. It was in high school that I had become versatile and enhanced in my delivery. I loved to freestyle and no moment was ever a no go, I’d spit so to speak, at the drop of a hat no matter who was in the room or where I was. There were some more life events that may have altered my music progress but now I feel it has really made my music what it is today. I became a father at the age of seventeen so I have always had the mind of a hard worker and the heart of a true provider now I am a father of seven children. In the late months of 2011 I got a gun charge and drug possession but thanks be to God I caught a break and got a blessing I was let off easy and now I feel it is definitely time to get my music on the map. I had to struggle all my life, couldn’t work because of certain situations sometimes, so I looked to sell drugs I needed to provide the nessecities for myself and my children. To the day this is how I make my living outside of my music. I make my own beats now on or off the keyboard or computer softwear, I am also a talented artist I can draw very well and I am good at designing posters and album covers things in the digital arts as well. I also have an ear for master mix downing on my music projects. In 2010 I began to have an account with Reverb Nation to have my music reviewed and my stats speak for themselves. I’ve been producing music videos and directing them as well. Right now and a for a couple years back I have been putting on shows at local clubs, I actually had my very first show at a club in Erie, PA called lamaz when I was eighteen. I’m well known in parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. I always bring in a crown at 250 or better with the audience views. I just really enjoy what I do. I have made numerous mix tapes since I was fifteen years old and all they have been is fire!! My inspirations are Tupac, Talib Kwali , and DMX to name a select few. Not only do I poses the talent but I also have the drive and the hunger to stand out and last long in the music industry. I am ready to take the world by storm, that is, if they can handle me.
