Jordan King, a 17 year old singer, songwriter and producer from the UK has just begun making an impact on the music scene.
Speciaisng in soul and R&B Jordan always makes sure to occasionally give his fans that special slow-jam number.
His sound is influenced by many quality artists and musicians such as Maxwell, Ne-Yo, Usher, Yolanda Brown, Etta James, Michael Jackson, Adele to name a few; yet he is still respected for his unique sound and tone. His main goal/mission is to bring ‘musicianship back to mainstream music’.
Jordan learnt how to play his first instrument, the drums, at the age of 9. At first he was tutored with the Gideon’s Marching Band, and later progressed even further at the Newham Academy of Music. At the age of 14 Jordan began to take an interest in song writing, using experiences in his own life and others to express his views and ideology of life through his lyrics. His lyrical content has advanced as he continues to talk about real heartfelt experiences even though many written songs have not been recorded. RnB was persistent in his song collection however recently he has been exploring different genres such as Jazz, Soul and Commercial POP/ Dance. Jordan is a true caterer for his fans and is always producing fusions; ‘futuristic music’.
He has performed in the presence of many established and successful artists such as: Skinny Man, Michelle Escoffery, FOLA, SWAY, Donaeo, Master Shortie and DJ Ironik. His most recent performances are Peace Week at Leister Square, Newham town show in Central Park and Live Vibe at the Lily Baylis Theatre. Jordan’s passion for music just continues to grow, him being a multi skilled artist, working with the established old and young and excelling in the field of production. To this date he has produced all of the songs that he vocals, using industry standard software in his bedroom. His improvement of skills in the fields of song writing continue to develop and are evident from his early songs like ‘Number 1’ to more recent productions, such as ‘Leave Me Alone’ and ‘Hood Love’ .
Not only does Jordan invest his time in music but has also taken an interest in acting and dancing from a young age. He was involved in musical theatre. Beginning his training at Stage Coach Theatre School, then later attended many established and renowned theatre schools and agencies such as: Stratford Circus, Anna Scher and John Robert Powers.
There is definitely more to come from this young urban artist as he is planning many more exciting projects for the future.
