Originally born Joshua Brooks, Brooka was exposed to a wide variety of cultures at a young age due to his mother being in the military. Raised in Sumter, South Carolina at the age of three, living with his Grandmother and two sisters while his mother was deployed. It was there where he became musically involved by joining the church choir.

Moving to cities such as Arizona and Hawaii, he finally settled in South Carolina at the age of 3, living with his grandmother and two sister while his mother was deployed. It was there where he became musically involved by joining the choir at his church.

Although Brooka loved being involved in the choir, he would often sneak away during practices to listen to rap. He quickly developed a strong passion for the art of rap, making it an outlet for the everyday struggle he was faced with living in a rough neighborhood.

Brooka began recording music in the 6th grade at a friends studio nearby, perfecting his craft as much as he could. Although it was originally just for fun, his friends knew Brooka had real talent. Being inspired by all the hard work his mother was doing, brooka felt like his music could be a gift to her, to show his gratified for all the sacrificies she made for him. Motivating him to be a hard working strong dteremined and driven, Brooka began to instill those values into his life and music career.

Musically, artist such as TI, Ludacris, Outkast, and Kanye West inspire Brooka. Although he likes to write songs about clubbing and women, his passion really shows where he describes the battles he faced growing up. Its not his struggles or grind that makes him unique, but how he uses them to paint pictures through his songs.

Although Brooka currently sings and raps, his goals for the future are to expand his talents and take up acting. His will to invest money, work through long nights and continure to live up to his mother’s hard work, there is no way Brooka can fail
