Jazzmin Sam’araye Harris, better known as “Jaz”, is an aspiring young R&B and Pop recording artist who has dreams of entertaining the world in all genres of music. She says she will be the next singing sensation to put some life back into the music industry. Her personal life is shared by her mother Rochelle N. Jones who has a background in music spanning over ten years and her father Samuel Harris who is a producer/writer/singer from Jackson TN. Jazzmin has two older brothers, Eriq and Trevius Jones. So you will soon hear and see where she gets it from.
Music has been a passion of Jazzmin’s from the very beginning. Jazz is a member of New St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church children’s choir and also a member of Tigrett Middle School’s gospel choir whom were featured at the 2012 Trumpet Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. Singing in choirs at such a young age was where her mother noticed her passion and love for music. Soon after, Jazzmin began singing at family, community, school functions and any other place where she could get voice heard because she was not scared to blow. Her first studio recording was a cover song called “Why I Love You So Much” by Monica in which Monica released in May of 1996 Recently, she had the opportunity to sing for Grammy-nominated writer and producer Maurice Carmon who has worked with artists such as Brandy, Charlie Wilson, Snoop Dogg, K-Ci, Teairra Marie, to Day 26. He quickly noticed her gift and future potential after only two lines of “Why I Love You So Much”.
Jaz is the type of kid that loves to hang with her friends and have fun at sleepovers and school dances. She is a jokester and has that type of personality that people love to be around. Jaz has a true talent in fashion and beauty because she loves to experiment on her cousins hair and actually does a great job at it. Also, she paints nails and dresses up her friends when they spend the night. She loves YouTube because it gives her an opportunity to tune-up the pipes when she sings songs by Beyonce and songs by her favorite artist of all time, Keyshia Cole. School is very important to her and she strives to be the best student possible and she is an A and B student as well. She has been taught to respect her craft and to put in the hardwork to fulfill every dream that she plans on accomplishing. She may not care for the breathing techniques that she has to do every morning (lol!) but, she is grateful.
Jazzmin’s dreams of being a global sensation is within her reach and she definately has the gift of voice. Emerging as a young artist and entertainer at such a young age proves her determination to succeed and she is up for the challenge. Jaz sees music as a way to express herself with the hopes of inspiring other young artists to pursue their dreams because you never know who will hear or see your talent.
