Jhaye is currently working on his second EP titled “Pop Art” set for a June 8 release. Pop Art is the follow up to his frist EP “Circuit Dialogue” released on December 15, 2011, featuring singles “For You” and “To The Sun”. Jhaye started writing and recording for his first EP in late 2009 ” This was my first musical project as a solo artist so all I wanted to do was explore and have fun.The EP was heavy in electronica sounds lined with dark synth pads for a more emotional and alternative feel. Jhaye wrote and produce the entire 12 track EP, while directing two of the video from EP.
Jhaye is Jamaican born Brooklyn local DIY artist. Coming from a culture rich in the arts Jhaye has always felt the need to make art, creating all his music from his Brooklyn home studio. When asked about creating music, Jhaye had this to say I have a lot of fun experimenting with different sounds, producing, writing and performing.I love to do it all.” Jhaye also explores art through other mediums such as painting, photography and even directing music videos.
Jhaye is nearing completion on the follow up to “Circuit Dialogue” while he is zoning in on specific genres and adding a strong concept on this project he is still exploring and having lots of fun on this EP.”My aim is to create a pop rock influenced sound but with a more sophisticated finish, hence the title of my new EP “Pop Art”.Jhaye is also planning a summer tour to support the EP release in June. I wanted to do pop on this EP to show that it doesnt have to be genric and predictable.
