From the rough streets of Philadelphia to rocking the mic on stages across the country, Shorty Roc is a phenomenon that the world has yet to experience. Dshauta Hayward, better known as, Shorty Roc is making a major mark on the entertainment industry. Her rough and raw sound is a reflection of the many trial and tribulations that helped to mold her into the extraordinary lyricist she is today.

With the influence of rap’s heavy hitters like Jay Z, Shorty Roc began writing music at 13. She can write hard hitting street music & write music that would relay a positive message and uplift the community. Her first hit single ‘Put the Gunz Down’, which received airplay on WRTI 97.1. The success of her music has afforded her the opportunity to perform at a mass of high schools including: South Philly High, Franklin, Gratz, and MLK just to name a few.

Due to the success of Shorty’s music, she was hired to perform in a national school tour in Memphis, Tennessee and the National African-American Student Leadership Conference in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Although she has toured the country performing on many stages, Shyne will forever be indebted to Philadelphia, the place she calls home. In Philadelphia she has performed at Senator Vincent Hughes’ ‘Put it Down’ a campaign to help reduce violence in the city, the Fourth Annual ‘ We Care Day’ in the Germantown section of the city, the ‘Unity in the Community’ festival in the Logan section of the city, and the ‘X-Offenders for Community Empowerment Eighth Annual Rally’ in North Philadelphia. Along with performing, Shorty’s hit song ‘I’ll See You in Court’ served as the opening music score for Kevin Mungin’s television show ‘Baby Mama Drama Child Support Court’.

With Shorty Roc’s talent and experience, she is destined to become a legend in the music industry. She is currently in heavy rotation on the University of Pennsylvania’s Student Radio station, WQHS, which is enabling her to reach a new fan base and generate a stronger buzz in the music industry.
