From Chicago to Atlanta to Los Angeles and The World

For this filmmaker the story is in the telling. Fr3deR1cK brings his exceptional camerawork and talent for capturing people’s stories to his work, traveling the world as a documentary filmmaker. His projects have led him to informal settlement villages in Nairobi Kenya to Hospitals for the poor in Lima, Peru to the coast of Constanza, Romania. He has spent time talking with kids in India and kids in South Central Los Angeles.

In Romania, Fr3deR1cK recently spent 20 days shooting the stories of a the survivors of a pediatric AIDS epidemic that appeared in 1989 and was recognized by the international community just days after the fall of communism there. Getting to know a group of these survivors and spending time with them has changed his outlook on hope, courage and what the future really means. He is in post-production on the project scheduled for a Spring 2010 release.

Traveling around the globe to the vibrant and exciting capital of Kenya, Fr3deR1cK hopped off the plane and went straight to Mukuru – an informal settlement/slum just outside of Nairobi that is home to over 600,000 people. The initial plan was to work on a project documenting a program called HIV FREE GENERATION, sponsored by PEPFAR ( U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief). Ambassador Sandra Thurman, former AIDS Tsar under President Bill Clinton, tapped Fr3deR1cK for the project as part of the ongoing HIV/AIDS prevention work she does as director of The Joseph W. Blount Global Health & Society Program at Emory University.

Completing his work for Emory, Fr3deR1cK quickly recognized that the stories in these communities were rich and varied. By spending time with young men in this community, Fr3deR1cK formed relationships and was able to capture an insider’s perspective of life in Mukuru that is rarely seen. Out of the trip a doc was born, and Fr3deR1cK continues to put together this amazing story.

When he is not traveling and working on his documentary projects, Fr3deR1cK is busy bringing his unique style and flair for storytelling to a variety of clients at his production company Tomorrow Pictures Inc. He has traveled to several South American countries to direct and shoot best practice videos for The Coca-Cola Company and has inspired and been creative director for the efforts of his team around the world in Europe, Asia and Australia.

Additionally Fr3deR1cK’s clients include almost all of the major record labels, where he cut his teeth as a director in music videos and behind the scenes artist documentaries—BMG, BMG France, Rowdy Records, Motown, Capitol and Restless Records to name a few.

Close to his office headquarters, Fr3deR1cK has been a long-time go-to director and executive producer for Georgia Lottery commercials. His favorites are the man-on the-street interviews or real people comedy spots. Other commercial clients include EarthShare, Unicef, CNN, Nike, EA and Durex. He has plugged into projects as a director, a cameraman, an editor or a creative director.

Fr3deR1cK has won awards and screened his work from LA to NY to London. His vision has been recognized in virtually every format including documentaries, narrative shorts, screenplays, commercials and music videos, where he was nominated for an MTV music video award.

His pet project is generating new and exciting original content for the Internet. Stay tuned in and logged on for tomorrowpictures.TV. The revolution will be downloaded. Fr3deR1cK built this internet network from scratch as a place to showcase his own story content and other interesting happenings around the world. It has grown into a global entity with over 25,000 unique visitors every month.

Born in Chicago, Fr3deR1cK was educated in Philadelphia, Atlanta, and now LA. He holds a BA in Film from Temple University and an MA in Television from Georgia State University.
