FLY, the multitalented, soulful, lyrically gifted, Atlanta native was born on June 20, 1985. An artist since the age of 5, this rhythmically talented rapper was groomed by her uncle, Derrick Reed, and absorbed a plethora of musical experiences throughout her upbringing. However, nothing touched her heart and soul like Hip Hop, R&B, and soulful Gospel. Therefore, it is no wonder that FLY has the ability to float gracefully between hip hop and soul, crafting a sound that so eloquently combines a smooth tone with rhythmic tunes that, in unison, creates a harmonious sound. She credits Lauryn Hill, Marvin Gaye, Tupac, Common, Nas, and OutKast for influencing the sound of her music.

Her name comes from her passion and desire to share the message of Faith, Love, & Youth. Therefore, she is known as FLY. Her purpose is to deliver music that penetrates, renews, refreshes, and restores people’s soul. She desires to express her love for God, life, and people through her rich, smooth tone and portray her warm personality, through her music. FLY humbly released her first, co-produced EP, ‘Epiphany Sky’ on February 21, 2012, which was described as a ‘floetic’ combination of lyrical gifts and musical work of art that seamlessly blended genres. Her EP fused sultry-soulful jazz inflected lyrics over subtle, yet vibratious, hip-hop grooves and received commendable feedback from acclaimed figures in the music industry.

Currently, FLY is in the studio working on her next highly anticipated project ‘Optical Muse’, which will be released in the Fall of 2012.

Thousands of people have already been moved by FLY’s music and live performances. She had the opportunity to perform at the Coretta Scott King’s 85th Birthday Celebration and Freedom Concert, sharing the stage with highly esteemed artists such as Dondria, D.Woods, and many more. As an actress, she has performed in several stage plays in the Southeastern Region.

While FLY continues to grow as an artist, her success is not exclusive to music as she exhibits her ability to captivate audiences through also being a savvy businesswoman by being the founder of FLYMusiq Group LLC and FLY Spirit LLC. FLY is an active member of the NO Losing Incorporated Campaign. In addition, she contributes to Mary Magazine as a Single Life columnist.
