Ashley Nicole Smith-Carter (Born May 15,1992), Known by her stage name Emerald Rayne Is an American Singer and songwriter with many talents such as writing screen and stage writing, and 16 in years musical training and experience. As a Teenager she performed with her child hood girl group in competitions and shows The girls went by their nick names Nessa, REL, and Rayne going by the name Atmistphere. In 2014 she changed her name to Rayne and in 2016 Established the name Emerald Rayne.

Early Life

Rayne was born May 15, 1992 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Wanda Smith (Mother), Melvin Johnson (uncle), and Susie Jefferys (aunt). At a young age Rayne began learning the piano with her aunt and singing in church with her uncle. Going to choir competitions in New Jersey and Traveling to Maryland to sing. At age 12 she became the adult and children’s choir director at her church in Tacoma Washington.  By age 15 she had her first recording session.
