Born Daniel Sapp Jr. native to Augusta, Ga, known as the home of the late Godfather of Soul, James Brown. D.U.B., a talented trumpet player, producer, artist-songwriter, and engineer, selected the alias D.U.B., acronym for “Don’t Underestimate Brilliance,” with hopes that the world will take this advice and apply it to their comprehension whenever they listen to his music. Brilliant MusiQ is exactly what D.U.B. creates with each and every composition. At the age of 11 he took interest in playing the trumpet and later began writing and composing original pieces. His musical background spans almost every genre including but not limited to classical and jazz. D.U.B. has had the honor of playing alongside musical icons such as Wynton Marsalis, Fred Wesley, and Wycliffe Gordon just to name a few. D.U.B. is a college graduate of Augusta State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in music and a minor in professional writing. As a skilled writer, artist and self taught recording engineer/producer, D.U.B. quickly became a household name to the locals in the CSRA because of his distinctive sound and passion for music. When asked to describe his music he states “My music is energetic and sensual. You can dance to it, work out to it, make love to it, and sing to it. It’s hard to sit still to it.” Calm and focused in personality, as told by many on their first impression of D.U.B., this young man transforms into a production genius when it comes down to the love of his life, music. Once an idea of a possible musical chart topper enters into his cognition, there is only one place to find him, in the studio. He currently hales in Atl, Ga and you can find him at The Musicbox Recording Studio (Archer Ent) alongside producer 88 Keyz. An inspiration to all because of his strong work ethic, D.U.B. does not wish for the impossible, but realizes that the possible is within arm’s reach.
