Khari O. “aka” Dj Knock Out was born in Providence, RI and has been a lifelong resident of the state. He was raised in a home where both parents instilled in himthe importance of setting goals and working hard to achieve them. He attended Dean College in Franklin, MA.

During his middle school years, Knock Out played both trumpet and saxophone. It was not until his junior year of high school that he was introduced to the art of dj’ing. At this time he met Joshua “aka” Nyce and they immediately hit it off. Knock Out was seeking an internship and Nyce suggested that he do it with his brother Dj Franchise. During the internship he developed a love for music and dj’ing and knew this is what he wanted to do permanently. One night, Franchise gave Knock Out the opportunity to open for him at a party for URI. He still recalls the first song he played that night, “Ching, ching, ching” by Nelly Furtado. He knew he still had a long way to go and was determined to succeed. He inherited what would later be his dj name on the basketball court. He had a craft of shooting the ball from half court and getting all net. His peers began calling him Knock Out. Coincidentally, his initials are K.O. so the name seemed very fitting.

A lot has happened for Knock Out since that first party at URI. At the age of 19, he was asked by Dj Half Pint to cover for him at Finnegan’s Wake. This lead to him being asked to dj at club Level II. He later became employed by the club as their dj and was known as the youngest club dj in Providence, RI. He has since dj’d for several clubs in the downtown Providence area. He is called upon year after year to dj for college, high school & private functions. He has had the opportunity to dj for Mike Jones and has opened up for Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa, Dip Set, French Montana, Red Cafe, Redman & Method Man. He also dj’s for local artists such as Jon Hope and Mista Mista. He has made numerous mix tapes and will continue to do so. Knock Out continues to work hard and further his craft as a young talented dj. His biggest goal is to keep the skill and entertainment of the “Dj” alive.
