Hey ya’ll, this ya girl Chelsey-Marie. I’m 23 years old and since the age of three, singing has always been my passion. After going through SO much growing up in a dysfunctional atmosphere, singing and writing were always my outlets. Helping me to vent and express my true emotions. At the young age of seven, I would write stories and poems to let out my frusterations and by age ten those poems and stories became lyrics. I’ve been writing ever since. Growing up in Atlanta, GA. I was very influenced by music and dance. In school, I always made it a point to snatch all parts in singing for the morning announcements and talents shows. Always freestyling with my friends,just singing as if that’s all i knew. As i grew, I became more and more hungry for my dream of becoming the next big thing in r&b. My influences and inspirations growing up were Mary J. Blige, TLC, Mariah Carey and Toni Braxton. Ofcourse i loved others such as Aaliyah, SWV, Janet Jackson and so on and so on. But these phanominal women really just encouraged me to be who I am today. The pain in their voice when they were going through it and how they let you know that no matter what you face, if you believe than you can always pull through. It made me realize that even though my life was so chaotic and just plain messed up, that even though my relatives told me how I was never going to make it and to just except the fact that good things would never come my way, that not only was that FALSE, but i could change my destiny and become my dream. And those wonderful strong women prove it every day, that it can happen and it WILL! So until that day comes, I sit here waiting to be able to inspire and motivate others the way so many have for me.
