Some say he’s a legend in the making while others say he can be the next Quincy Jones, Timberland or even Dr. Dre. With his musical background of jazz, classical, blues, hip hop, R&B, Reggae put all in one, The born and raised producer/beat maker from Gun Ru,Mi, Rashaad “Big Shaady” Myrie, is making musical waives into masterpieces. Now currently residing in Phoenix, AZ, he is blazing up the music scene even more. Growing up in Gun Ru (Grand Rapids, MI) was a mixture of hard times and happiness. Growing up in his grandma’s house listening to soul music legends such as James Brown, Al Green, The Temptations, The 5 heartbeats, Gladys Knight and the pips, Anita Baker, The Jackson 5, and the list goes on was a must living under the same rough as my aunt.
At the age of 10, he began in grade school, learning the basic skills of classical music w/ the cello. Wanting to learn more, he continued to pursue the skills as a cello-ist in the public school system…Not knowing his possible potential, Big Shaady adventured off into sports to where he made a name for himself. He began making beats during his senior year in high school. Finishing High School, he began harnessing his skills as at Grand Rapids Community College in the Recording Technology department. His influences that helped him get to becoming a producer was his cousins William and Marty Blackmon. “Being DJ’s and seeing them scratch and mix was very influential coming up listening to music.” Big Shaady replied. With ambitions in becoming the greatest producer of all times, Big Shaady began investing in countless equipment and making tracks for up and coming artist such as Talisman, The F.I.S.T Coalition and more.
