Bio of Imaculate Conception

It’s hard to tell whether Virginia native Imaculet Conception is Angry or just serious about the things he speaks on, but one thing is sure, with every verse a new and greater understanding of the man behind the soon to be released Abstractions Vol#1, aptly titled for its myriad of complex subject matter and diverse production, which all comes together to form a collection of well-constructed abstract ideas i.e. Abstractions. The first single “Group Effort” is set to be released on the 19th of October, 2012, which will then be followed by a visual for the single.

On December 21’st 1989 in Richmond VA, at MCV hospital, to Ralaunda Rayford and Leroy Powell, Imaculet Conception was the child that no one knew of, even his mother whom was thrown off by the pregnancy, in the late hours of December 21st 1989, Ralaunda L Rayford would give birth to Amon M Rayford, born 7 ½ month’s premature ,he was only a fraction of the size that most babies are when they are born, weighing in at only three pounds, and being small enough to fit in the palm of an adult hand.

Yet, somehow, he would manage to pull thru and make a full recovery eventually being able to go home with his young mother, imaculet Conception states that it is during this time after he was born and under the watchful eye of hospital personnel twenty four seven, that he was instilled with his love for music, “My mother would come to the hospital in Richmond Virginia, where i was, and stay the entire day, and she would sing to me, in my honest opinion this is the only thing that helped me survive, otherwise i would have died like the rest of the premises, i guess the combination of love, and the soothing vibrations from my mother’s singing really kept me going, and i attribute it to being the reason i love music so much know, music keeps me going, its keeps me alive, without music i feel empty” .

Soon after his speedy recovery he would return home to Petersburg VA, were he would reside for the next eighteen and a half years, it is here in the small town located near the bottom of Virginia, that he would hone his skill as an artist,” Music was a big thing in my household as a child, so every morning while i was getting ready for school my mother would be playing the radio, i eventually learned how to put a song together in its entirety from observing and analyzing the songs i heard on the radio, as well as the albums my mother listened to, such as Reakwon Only Built For Cuban Lynx,, Biggies Life After Death , Bob Marley’s Talking blues and Legend, And Nirvana’s Debut Album, as well as Alanis Morriset’s Debut Album Jagged Little Pill. These particular album’s and there tracks played a major part in my development as an artist”.

All though he would not have an ongoing relationship with his biological farther, during the fall of 1996 he would meet Marvin S Taylor, the man that would take on the duties of being his farther, imaculet conception says that meeting his farther is what put things into perspective for him, although young, he knew what he wanted to do from day one “For a long time, it was clear to me as to what i wanted to do, no question about that, but i didn’t know how to go about doing it, and for a while it was merely a fantasy of mines, but being around my farther, who himself is a saxophone player as well as a mixing engineer, really gave me the extra drive to peruse it full time, our relationship helped solidify it for me, in my eyes, the man i looked up to the most did it, so i was to”

It wouldn’t be until his first near brush with death at the tender age of nine and a half that he would decide to try his hand at rapping, he would first go by Night Wolf, named after the popular mortal kombat character, then after some time he would switch to his name again to detention “i felt like i was always locked up, or in a situation i could escape from, so the name defined me and who i was at the time” , he would maintain the Detention Moniker until the winter of 2009, when he would ultimately become Imaculate Conception “It wasn’t a new name, i had developed Imaculet Conception as an Alias, another side of me at the time, but i realized that at that time were i was headed, i was more so Imaculet Conception, then i was detention, so i made the change, and grew from there”
