When I log on to the system, I have the choice of picking an artist or a song that I like. It also makes listening to music a more interactive experience, which is fun. In addition, if I don’t know what song I might want to listen to, it has some preset stations that I can pick from.

This has to do with the licenses that they have with the record companies that prevent them from playing particular songs on demand. It also plays a few commercials from time to time if you listen to it long enough, but I can deal with that when the music is free!
