Louis Vuitton at the Champs Elysees hosts
L’Espace culturel Louis Vuitton at the Champs Elysees hosts a
new collective exhibition entitled Turbulences.
From different perspectives, each of the 11 artists invited here
addresses the theme of Turbulence, a versatile notion that can be
approached from different standpoints:aesthetic, empirical,
mechanic and philosophical.
Turbulent processes are highly volatile, and above all,
unpredictable. However, far from the threatening commotion of total
chaos, the works presented here act like “turbines”, generating
constantly evolving processes, structures and forms. Order and
discorder, so intimately intertwined, create a fertile and dynamic
field.
A visually intriguing example of this idea is the work of
Ryoichi Kurokawa, one of the leading exponents of digital art. The
piece showed here—Rheo:5 horizons—is an installation comprising
five screens arranged alongside each other which are at times
fragmented and unified at other moments.
Interference, double exposure, distortion, mutation:one can witness
a permanent reconfiguring of representations of reality, swinging
back and forth between the familiar and the enigmatic, the profound
silence and the sudden sound saturation.
Rheo: 5 horizons is an invitation to travel, a new kind of
travel possible via either random or systematic combinations of
geometrical shapes, sounds and colors.
