KEEPING CHRIS BOSH IN OUR PRAYERS
Miami Heat All-Star forward Chris Bosh is expected to meet with doctors on Thursday to determine the seriousness of blood clotting in his left calf and whether the use of blood thinners could allow him to return this season, league sources told The Vertical. Bosh, an 11-time All-Star, met with Heat physicians on Monday in Miami and will get further evaluation on Thursday, sources said. There was more optimism in Miami on Monday than during All-Star weekend in Toronto that Bosh’s condition could be manageable, league sources said.
Nevertheless, there are still determinations to be made on Bosh’s condition and immediate future on Thursday.
Bosh pulled out of the All-Star Game and 3-point contest on Friday because of the concerns of a potential blood clot. There was initially some apprehension about Bosh flying back to South Florida, but he did so without a physical problem.
Bosh missed the final 30 games a season ago after a blood clot in his calf moved to his lungs. He took blood thinners for several months following the 2015 clotting. Bosh, 31, is averaging 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds for the Heat. The Miami Herald first reported Bosh had a blood clot scare.
