Future (@1Future) Free Concert At Roxy Canceled After Crowd Shuts Down Sunset In West Hollywood

A crowd of hundreds of people waiting for a nighttime concert at the Roxy nightclub in West Hollywood was shut down Thursday after the large crowd lining up for a free concert spilled into the street. People began lining up at 11 a.m., according to Lt. William Nash with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s West Hollywood Station. About 700 people were in line, with the crowd spilling out into the street in front of the club, at 9009 Sunset Blvd.

Just before 3 p.m., the busy thoroughfare was closed between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard, the station announced on Twitter. The concert, listed on the Roxy’s website as the Ataris with Sederra opening, was set to begin at 7:30 p.m.

However, a free concert was also expected at the Roxy from rapper Future, the last of a four-show free “Salute the Fans” tour that began in Atlanta on Monday. Details of each concert were announced every morning. “The Roxy,” Future tweeted simply at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. It was not immediately clear when the show was the Roxy was expected to go on.
