DeAndre Jordan To Sign With Dallas Mavericks

DeAndre Jordan: Latest News, Rumors and Speculation on Free-Agent Center

DeAndre Jordan has been one of the most sought-after free agents this offseason, and the All-Star center is reportedly closing in on a decision to sign with either the Dallas Mavericks or Los Angeles Clippers. Marc Stein of ESPN reported Jordan is on the verge of accepting a four-year, $80 million offer from the Mavericks. Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reported Jordan will announce today he is signing with Dallas.

Ken Berger of CBS Sports reported the Clippers have been informed about Jordan’s departure. Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reported Jordan is joining the Mavericks because “he wants to be the man.”

Parsons has been relentlessly recruiting Jordan for the last six weeks, probably calling and texting the third-team All-NBA center as much as he contacts his supermodel girlfriend. Parsons made a recent trip to Houston to hang with Jordan. Parsons hopped a flight to L.A. immediately after the draft to get more face time with Jordan as free agency approaches—and free agent shooting guard Wesley Matthews has also been spotted with them.

On June 30, Chris Broussard of ESPN noted the Clippers were likely to offer Jordan a fifth year on the contract worth a reported $27 million. He also reported the center wanted a bigger role in the team’s offense next season.
