Angie Stone Reportedly Arrested for Domestic Aggravated Assault

Angie Stone was reportedly arrested in Dekalb County, Ga., on Tuesday (March 10) for a domestic aggravated assault charge, according to Atlanta Journal Constitution.

TMZ reports that the 53-year old singer “punched” her 30-year old daughter Diamond in self-defense: “Angie then told police she defended herself with a metal stand, but accidentally hit Diamond in the face… knocking out her front teeth.”

Angie allegedly tried to flee the scene when she “realized the mistake,” but Diamond came after her. The fight between the two were broken up by a family friend.

No further details of the arrest are available, DeKalb police Capt. Stephen Fore told AJC.com.

This isn’t Stone’s first run-in with the law. She was arrested in March 2011 after she was caught speeding and driving on a suspended license while going to church. She was “completely blinded by the run-in with the cops,” because she wasn’t aware there was a warrant out for her arrest for a prior unpaid speeding ticket, Stone’s publicist told TMZ in 2011.

Stone recently appeared in TV One’s reality show R&B Divas: Atlanta.

A representative for Stone did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
