  1. Not only are the first two movies in the series beyond comparison, but the 1977 adaptation for TV was outstanding. The 1977 TV broadcast re-edited the first two Godfather movies so that you could see the rise, fall, and re-emergence of the Corleone family in chronological order. The series also contained deleted footage that added to the overall narrative.
