  1. This posting made my night!

  3. Yes, I saw this earlier in the week as well and I feel Irv’s pain, I want us to be multi-faceted but I need somebody to return to the core. I think Tip has the ideology of doing it but Irv’s right, new artist need to be fueled with bringing it back as well. I had an artist continue to say, check me out, I have what your looking for it’s real, it’s back to the days of Pac. I can’t tell you the kind of language I wanted to use when I heard what he presented. I always try to use diplomacy in my response and it was in line with what’s been selling and may even be better than what’s out but it’s not what I’m looking for. I even had a discussion with an artist already contracted to me and we fight back and forth constantly because I want him to do something historical, something lasting and after all of the artist development his mindset reverts back to what his environment is telling him. I feel Irv because it’s really hard when you love this, when you truly grew up with Hip Hop and see some of the things you see, it’s truly hard. Especially since you’ve sacrificed so much to do this.
