A Night to Remember

Tyson Beckford, Kenny Lattimore and Judy Mauldin to honor Bethann Hardison and Willi Smith for A Night to Remember
Fundraiser on September 6 to include fashion, entertainment and tribute to the 1973 Grand Divertissement à Versailles.

ATLANTA  On Tuesday, September 6, 2011, the international leaders of the fashion, design, music and entertainment will descend upon Atlanta for an unprecedented fundraiser. To honor those who paved the way for African Americans on the catwalk and in the ateliers, Kenny Lattimore, Judy Mauldin, and Tyson Beckford will host and recognize the legendary Bethann Hardison as well as celebrate the late fashion designer Willi Smith.

Nationally renowned designer (and soon-to-be HGTV star of Design Wars) Michael Habachy will lend his considerable talent to transform the Atlantic Station venue at 231 18th Street into a luxurious space filled with celebrities and trendsetters. VIP cocktails and red carpet arrivals will begin at 7pm followed by live entertainment and a fashionable tribute — including a runway homage to the 1973 Grand Divertissement à Versailles. Considered an historic fashion event, it was the moment when “new” American designers — Halston, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, Anne Klein and Stephen Burrows— dominated the “established” French houses — Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy, Emanuel Ungaro and Pierre Cardin — and Hardison brought the house down.

Tickets for the event — $500 for VIP and $250 for General Admission — are available on the website http://www.antrfashion.org and will benefit Invisible Beauty  a documentary by Bethann Hardison and the Mauldin Scholarship Fund at SCAD.
