  1. They brought up some good points, but I agree with you that they needed some younger people at the table also

  2. i think it would have been good to have one person from this era in the building but at the same time who is respected in the hiphop world for their opinion and is that young. your level of hiphop knowledge for the most part wouldnt be strong enough for the opinion to be respected. the only thing you could add to the discussion is that wayne album is a banger. it is not lol. good album yes wayne best album no. i been a fan of wayne since day one and the carter iv digressed from carter 3.

  3. See this Is my Problem with these so called ” Hiphop Critics” Who work at these magazines, blogs and radio. They are not in tuned with the youth on any level. They say they listen to they children but they still judging artist based on the era they grew up with. Biggie is dead, jay-z is an icon, krs-1 is an old school legend. Leave those people and their contributions to the industry Where they belong and that place is history. These kids love lil wayne, gucci, wacka, nicki , drake etc… Let these kids have they sound track to their highschool/college years. These people on the panel had their era. It’s no way those people should be judging the carter 4 cause they are not totally into the new generation cause they not kids. They’re old heads that look for what’s wrong with wayne’s album verse taking the project for what it is and the generation it represents.
See this is why I Say That JD YOu need to really get back into the corporate swing of things in this industry. I know your a producer/songwriter first. But You understand the youth and this generation. You stay in tune with what’s new and you listen to these kids who’s making records! It’s time for Jermaine dupri to dust off his suite and ties and get back to the desk work at one of these companies . And Show these people that this generation is not into what the ” Old heads’ Think is good music. Its Time JD. I’ve said this before. But you can lead the new generation to a level where dollars will be made and people will understand and more doors will be open…..
    Mr R. Franklin

  4. I agree with the guy who said Wayne raps are all over the place. Sometimes its cool but I think he has to get back to writing or putting more thought to what he says.Bc everything he says just all sound the same and its clutter. I thought it was a good convo and it would have been good to hear someone of this era to have a say

  5. yeah Mr R. Franklin i agree to some point. but the way kids are fed music these days they are fed what to like instead of truly forming their own opinion. wayne is hot right now. wayne has talent. does wanye have a classic album? no. hammer was the most popular at one time and couldnt do no wrong but at the same time he was popular, in the world of hiphop at the time we didnt equate him being the most popular with having the most skills. the kids now a days have so much information they have a some what skewed perspective. main problem i have is kids saying oh wayne outsold jay and kanye. they champion everything but the music. im older but i can find a lot of music the youth get with and rock with it. like i find soulja boy necessary in hiphop like i find jay necessary. soulja makes music for his era and its not for me but i can relate to it and have fun with it. wayne is 27 by that time jay had reasonable doubt. nas had illmatic. 50 had get rich or die trying. wayne is just 2 good 2 not have dropped a classic album by now. most kids today like microwave meals but they dont want to sit down and wait for that good homecooked meal from the oven. if whats popular dictates the state of hiphop we wont have hiphop very long if all thats being served is microwave meals thats only hot on the surface but when you get to the middle its still cold. wayne can you serve me a meal from the oven.
