As previously reported, Antonio “L.A.” Reid was officially named chairman and CEO of Epic Records. In the official statement below L.A. spoke on his new position.

We are deeply committed to discovering and developing the next generation of superstars as well as implementing a fresh and innovative business model. It is also my distinct pleasure to be once again joining Doug, who is an amazing leader and the most visionary and forward-thinking executive in the music entertainment industry.”

Very happy to hear of the commitment being dedicated to discovering and developing the new talent of superstars. I really hope L.A. Reid and Epic Records will see we need more younger generation talent like myself. We need more music that the younger generation can relate to. We need more role models. Take it back to the old days. The mesg in music now is more about sex something kids can’t relate to.
