1 ON 1 BBOY BATTLE!

WHEN I THINK OF HIPHOP THIS IS WHAT COMES TO MIND,THIS IS WHERE I COME FROM,A WORLD WHERE TEXTING DONT REALY HAVE A MEANING,DIAMONDS MIGHT GET LOST AND CHAINS GET BROKE,A WORLD WHERE YOU DONT LEAVE THE ROOM UNTIL THAT ONE MOVE IS PERFECTED AND IN THE MIDDLE OF GETTING THAT YOU COME UP WITH SOMETHING ELSE.IM SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS AND KNOW THAT KIDS STILL TAKE IT AS SERIOUS AS I DID ,THE STUFF THEIR DOIN ON HERE IS FAR FROM EASY SOME OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE SHIT I’VE EVER SEEN

  1. That’s how it get’s done! I remeber back in the day, i’d come home from school, grab a snack, turn on some music, & dance for hours in front of the mirrors that lined the walls of our livingroom. Then, if there was a party to go to i’d be there, just killin it!

  2. Before my arms and legs became too long to breakdance this is what it was all about! My introduction to Hip-Hop was T-La Rock’s “It’s Yours” on an 8-track. I was so turned on that I wanted to be a part of every aspect of this culture, the dancing, the grafitti, the beat-boxing, and even the singing (yes, the singing, Full Force and Force MDs.) Even in my old neighborhood (Thomasville) there was plenty opportunities for me to battle. I could pop-lock and break a little bit but my specialty was the “Wave!” Because my arms were so long and slinky it just looked really fresh. I was about 5 feet 8 inches and about 90 pounds! Imagine that!

  3. Im so proud. This year russia was in the finals at 1×1 battles.
and i totally agree with what you say!!!
especially in france theres big movement that is connecting people form all over the world.
    and its amazing!
thank you for posting it and letting other people see not only the ‘bling bling’ life 😉

  4. They filmed this right! i’m feelin it

  5. SICK!!!

  6. this was some of the illest shit i have seen in a long time …… NOW THATS HIP HOP RIGHT THERE…. FROM HERE ON OUT THATS HOW I WANT U HIP HOP (in my mike lowery voice from bad boys)

  7. even though, i’m not a huge fan of battle of the year (b-boy wise)..i’m glad this is up here. i have even more respect that you acknowledge B-Boying as Hip-Hop. I remember seeing you get down a little bit on the Usher Confessions Tour with FloMaster. To a lot of people, this thing is a fad or a thing of the past, but to me..it’s a lot deeper. It’s a worldwide phenomena that CONTINUES to grow and get bigger. I hope that one day, b-boys/b-girls can get the same kind of respect as professional athletes AND more importantly, legitimate dancers. 35 years into this, and a lot of people still don’t get it. We really work hard for not only our moves but our creativity, our rhythm, our character. Much respect to you JD for the post.
