Sex never went anywhere, I think that as individuals we have periods of excess and periods of droughts. When you are not getting it everyday it’s easy to assume that everybody else is in a drought too… Also age plays a part, at certain periods in life most people are more active than at other times in life. There are many factors that affect our frequency of doing the do.
I have read about and experienced personally the phenomena of men being more active when they have financial security. A man with money is generally more confident, and confidence attracts women. When your pockets are light your focus is on getting money, not getting laid. But at the opposite end of the spectrum, when you are absolutely broke, sex might be the best cheap/free entertainment going… So depending on your personality being paid or poor can both increase your level of activity

Social networks could have something to do with it, but then again it can’t be Twitter because Myspace and Facebook been popping for over 5 years now. The recession might have something to do with it because niggas is just tryna stay home instead of blowing cash. The more you stay home then the more you and your partna will get that bed rocking ya feel me. I haven’t noticed personally, but that’s my opinion. I will say that it seems as though homosexuality is looking a little more accepted now and maybe that has something to do with it. I’m not taking sides on that issue. I’m str8 myself and love the pussy but hey im just saying what i see.

I don’t think the social networks opened the door for it, it may have made people more easily accessible. But casual sex has always been around. It’s just that these days women are more agressive, and have a don’t care attitude about sex. As women we set the the standard for what we allow and don’t allow from men. Back in the day, when as women we used to keep things on the low, these hussies today broadcast their sexual liasions like it’s a badge of honor. SMH. I remember(see how old I sound, I’m only 30yr) when you dated a guy and you made him wait for sex, at least 6months.(Hey!!! my kitty my rules, don’t judge me) These days, if he takes you out to an ok resturant (for some ppl, that is McD’s) he gets the kitty that night. And the guys expect sex too!!! SMH. I do believe sex is at an all time high. The media is very powerfull with their subliminals on tv, where EVERYTHING is sexual(as the saying goes “sex sells”), from commercials to movies to tv shows. So our teens and preteens are experimenting with sex at an earlier age. I don’t think the recessions has anything to do with it. If someone is being affected by the recession, they need to be on their grind in figuring out to put some money in their pockets to pay them bills, rather than sittin at home tryin to figure out who to call up and f@#k. So they shouldn’t have time for sex. And if that is the only pleasurable thing you can think of to occupy your time, you have some major loop holes in your personality. Everytime you have sex you’re playing Russian Roulette with the Stork. Condoms are not fool proof!!!! Also people don’t go to church anymore like they used to, so they do what they want, either out of ignorance or they just don’t care, and the biblical moral codes that used to govern our actions are no longer there. I personally think it’s the time in which we are living in and the media.

Sex and social networking has nothing to do with one another,,, how many years have humans been on the planet? So people have been having sex for like a million years. A Doctor just told me that the birth rates tend to go up during a recession cause people don’t have anything else to do. (That’s where the baby boomers came from, the great depression)

I don’t even like having sex with lots of women, the more women you have the more problems you got to deal with. Give me a 50 year old divorced chick and I’m straight,,,, No drama there, plus anything goes…. LOL

What up JD? I’ve been checking out you’re Living the Life series, well that at least how I view it, and just want to say thanks for giving us a peep into the life of someone such as yourself and just keep posting I’ll be watching. Now to answer your question no I don’t think Twitter has opened the door for casual sex and no I don’t think sex is at an all time high. What Twitter has done is give people an outlet to speak their minds, share thoughts, and let people into their personal lives. Sex has and will always be around it’s just that now with the social networks, Twitter, the actions are being broadcast so that more than the people an individual would see, talk to, or meet are able to know what that person is doing. That’s all I care to type on that subject, FYI sex is gonna be prevalent in great or bad economic times.

Sex has been around for many many many yrs and as the yrs go on the sexual revolution evolves just like everything else, before showin leg above the knee was a horrible thing to do and know i dont think you can by a dress or skirt that goes below the knees anymore. So things like twitter and other social networks are just part of the evolving process its just another avenue to take wen you wanna get a lil bit, I think the social networking makes it eaiser for someone who might not be as agressive as others to be a little more forward and adventrous and do things they wouldnt normally do if they didnt have the social networks. I dont think sex is at its all time high, we in America have a long way to go before that happens, example Europeans i think they are further advanced in this sexual evolution than we are, when we start being as open as the Europeans are about sex, then i think we will be at our all time high.

To put my two cents in yes it is a recession and people are having more sex because going out nowadays is costing alot and if you are not a high roller to go out and pay for a girls drink at $20 a pop for drink you are gonna stay home or where ever and just kick it. Going out to have dinner is also out the door. Is social networking to be blamed? No I dont think so, what social networking does is open the door to reach out to more people and have a wider friend base not to increase the reach of your little black book!

This epidemic of casual sex is emphasized in the book of revelation & yes social networking, the recession & personal choice are all factors!!!

Social Networks definitely have had an impact on sexual relations. Facebook alone has reconnected many people who probably would have never rekindled the ole flame. Surveys show that facebook is involved in one form or another in 75% of divorce cases these days.
Social networking allows people to communicate with more people, and the more people you communicate with, the more opportunities there are for a sexual connection. I don’t know of very many people connection on Twitter, but it is definitely possible, as I have made business connections on twitter that have led to real world meetings, I am sure that a sexual encounter between two people with nothing to do on a Friday night is more than possible.

(I.M.O) SEX will always be at an all time high “RECESSION” or not.. it’s much easier to get some ass using any type of social network than personally meeting someone..It’s gives you more options and less hassle, you don’t have to try as hard to take some home 🙂

Lmao! @ yall’s comments..I think social networking izzz the new hookup spot..For facebook i mainly have ppl as friends that actually know me..so u get the ex’s that want to c what u look like now..and trying to holla..then u got guys sending u random requests or inbox messages..Somebody said that Facebook is turning into the new Blackplanet which is booty call central! Guys send u requests and u look at their status or pics and it shows they are obviously involved..tacky..i hit the ignore button..then for instance on fb u sign up for other pages like The Essence music fest page..then guys from that page hit u up..talking about i’m gonna let u know where the nice parties r but then it eventually gets around to them trying to holla lol..They try to feel u out to see if ur down so social networking gives ppl the courage to try to get it if they can lol…I’m not down with casual sex either..and in this day if a lot of ppl r i hope they r protecting themselves

If you look at the influence that having instant access to other people has had on society, then yes. Moral barriers are broken more easily with all of the options people have at their disposal. I truely believe that we r not in a recession in the true sense of it. I seems like people r losing their safeguards and dont seem to be able to say no. Sex has become another form of a hand shake to some. Those people will just be those people with no regard for themselves at the time. E….

I fell people need to be more careful about what they decided to put out on line, b/c some of that stuff can come back and bite you in the a$$; And I fell to see how twitter and sex go together.
