The late Nat Finkelstein is most famous for his documentation of Andy Warhol’s factory, although his career spanning five decades includes the iconic photojournalism of the civil rights and anti-war protests of mid-60s America, where he gained acclaim for his capturing the Black Panthers movement to his continuing exploration of the subcultures of 80s and 90s New York.

Finkelstein spent 2 years inside Warhol’s factory obtaining the most exclusive access to one of the most important movements in pop cultures history. Capturing the likes of Edie Sedgwick, Nico, Lou Reed, Salvador Dali, Allen Ginsberg, Marcel Duchamp, Bob Dylan and and of course Warhol himself. Idea Generation Gallery will be holding a retrospective in London, launching January 20th and running through till February 14th.
