WHATS UP LIFERS? I’M HERE IN VEGAS, I JUST DID A PRESS CONFERENCE AT BLOGWORLDEXPO 2009, AND IN THE MIST OF TALKING MY MIND WAS SPARKED WITH TODAYS TOPIC.  ABOUT A MONTH OR 2 AGO GREG STREET AND I DID A INTERVIEW WITH NECOLEBITCHIE.COM ON A FRI AND I WANTED TO POST IT ASAP BUT SHE ASKED THAT WE WAIT TILL MON. I DIDN’T REALLY UNDERSTAND SO HAD HER EXPLAIN. SHE SAID THE TRAFFIC FOR BLOGGING IS LOW ON THE WEEKENDS AND YALL DON’T REALLY READ BLOGS SAT AND SUN. I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT ABOUT MYSELF,  I CHECK THE BLOGS EVERYDAY. NO DAYS ARE DIFFERENT FOR ME BUT I DID NOTICE A PATTERN WITH THE SITES TO NOT POST ON THE WEEKENDS. SO MY QUESTION TO YOU IS DO YOU NOT LOOK TO READ MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT BLOGS ON THE WEEKENDS AND IF SO WHY?

  3. The blogs get me through my week. It’s a source of entertainment and an outlet during the work week. When I have time to just do me though, I do me.

  4. No i’m always out on da weekend, out party wit da girls or wit my boyfriend. i’ll read music & enterainment blogs on monday.

  6. I run google analytics on my blog and I pay attention to the numbers. Fri-Sun my site hits are about 25% of mon- thurs daily hits. I can even say that the time I post a blog during the day affects readership. All this means to me is that folks read my stuff at work or at school. I am the same way, on the weekends I am out living my life so reading blogs is not necessary to fill in the slow times of day.

    The other thing to factor in is that many folks still lack high speed Internet access or even a computer at home. And many who do may only use them during the week for work related activities. On the weekends I may check out blogs while on the subway or while on a trip but other than that it’s rare unless I am grinding out two or three blogs for myself to post during the week.

    But I learned not to wast good material by posting fri-sun because most of my readers don’t try to catch up on old topics unless I have a racy title.

  7. My surfing habits don’t change from one day to the next. In fact I’ll be on more during the week-ends since I’m not at work. But then again I have no access at work which I understand makes me part of a minority more and more these days so I could see how blog viewing would be higher during week days.

    Gonna go have sex now.

  8. I check regardless of the day of the week. I used it as a break from school work when there’s nothing on tv that interests me. And now that winter is trying to come early here, I’ll probably check certain blogs more often.

  12. I check the blogs daily. I like to be updated on whats going on. Be in the kno. Alot happens on the weekend… I would think you get the most hits then, if you really in the loop. 🙂

  15. I stay surfing daily. I have my time set aside where I make sure to check my favorite sites. But having a blog myself I do notice that the traffic is lower. So unless it’s major news most people are spending time with the family & other things. Yet for me it does not matter. I stay up to the minute, updated.

  19. Their are certain sites that i go to everyday! And i go to them in a order like this livemixtapes.com,bossip.com, myspace,youtube,global14,facebook and twitter. I get on the computer everyday just so i dont miss anything like on livemixtapes they have where you jus go to the new so if i dont catch the new i have to go threw all the mixtapes. Or if i dont go on bossip ill have to go back 3,4 pages and i dont feel like doin that. Plus i like to be on the new stuf before everybody else. Like #Biem

  20. I don’t spend time on internet during weekends, I rather party my boys, chill with a girl, record tracks, well a lot of others things I can’t do on week days because of work. I actually just check my fb page or myspace sometimes but i don’t stay that much on it.

  21. I only check blogs when I was bored at work and glued to the desk. Otherwise, I don’t care to take the time to be bothered with the sniping and bickering.

    Which leads me to the idea that humanity will always sink to the lowest common denominator when somewhat anonymous. People are mean and nasty as hell when online.

  27. cause most folks only use computer at work and they usually work during the week and weekends usually not occupied at the computer so therefore a big dropoff on weekend surfing

  29. i used to not check on the weekends because i would only read blogs when i was bored at work but now i check my regulars everyday just to see whats up. And some DONT update that often on weekends which puts them lower on my list. Im on here 7-8 times a day! lol

  31. I like reading them everyday because I like to keep up with what’s going on. I feel if I check them on the weekends that I’m only getting half the information. So I like checking them everyday.

  34. i check blogs everyday i don’t care what day it is i do it all day i love blogs but i will say this on the weekend i wont come check what other people has writing pertaining to a certain blog if i’m busy going out but before i go to bed every night i check blogs. this one concreetloop and ybf the rest i don’t go to unless someone tell something interesting is on there..

  35. I do look to read blogs on the weekend. I try to keep up with what I may have missed during the week, and any new posts. I am a homebody, so, I stay on the internet.

    If you do not post on the weekend it will drive traffic during the weekdays. (for example, if your favorite store is open mon thru friday… u can only shop on those days. but if your store is open 24/07 u can shop whenever.. (Wal-mart get lots of traffic because it is open 24/07)

    Mon-Fri posting seems to get more traffic. But in reality, posting daily can get the most traffic if you use excellent techniques to get traffic to your site.

    For instance, JD. If you had live chat capabilities where you can interact with bloggers as well as bloggers interacting with each other in live chat. (similar to twitter)
    Also, if you posted on weekends and commented on weekends to bloggers posts, your site will have traffic jams…

    From experience, when I see that u just commented online on Twitter, I constantly hit u up with tweets, hoping to get a response. One time, I was lucky and u tweeted back. U see, people want to
    interact with u in real time.

    Do a survey of the comments people have left on Global14 about you responding back… they want you to comment in real time.. if they know you may comment back at any given time , they will stay on your site…..

    Also, remember with technology now, such as WIFI u can be out partying and still check out Global14 and any other site. DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELF TO MON-FRI…BRING POST TO US EVERYDAY…. INTERACT LIVE AS MODERATOR … AND LOADS OF TRAFFIC WILL JAM PACK YOUR SITE….

  39. I don’t read them every weekend because i’m always on the go. It’s easier to read during the week because im usually at work or there’s nothing really going on during the week.

  40. People are out doing stuff on the weekend. Most people surf the net at work which explains why the weekend is slow. Plus entertainment bloggers are all out on the weekend covering all the events that happen. This weekend being slow is something that’s been true for the internet for the last 15 years.

    I think the two biggest days for traffic is usually Monday and Thursday. Monday, people check to see what happen on the weekend. Thursday people are look to see what to do on the weekend.

  54. I guess it depends.but the majority of people do not check it on weekends, it is pretty much the days when all the rotine changes, ”bed time”, go out, gym etc etc.. But for, in this case, the real lifers it is the same.

  59. My work week is Sun-Thurs and that is when I usually read blogs the most. Sitting in front of the computer 40 hrs per wk, I don’t feel like it on my days off.

  69. Well, I will read blogs if I am in front of my computer but if I’m not home (weekend or otherwise), it is not getting read. I read blogs after checking my email.

    As for others, you don’t really need analysis to know that most of the people that frequent blogs do so while at work (and probably school). Thus, most of those people work M-F during the day. No coincidence that responses are so heavy during that time. There are always exceptions but the people who will read on Sat or Sun will probably read M-F but the converse is not necessarily true. So Necole was right on holding the story until Monday for max exposure.

  70. I mostly read blogs (or being on twitter…) when I am at school in a quit break during classes or when I am studying at the library, and sometimes home (when the computer is available). It just happens that most of the time during the weekend your schedule is not the same (maybe all days are the same for you JD)…Often it is more difficult to keep up with the blogs on weekends unless you have internet on your phone.

    Since I have internet on my phone, I check blogs more often because I don’t need to be in front of a computer…I can check things wherever I am (in the bus, home, at school…) so there is always some time to do it on weekends too. But then again, if your phone is slow like mine you’ll check the blog but there are chances you won’t respond to what is posted though.

  73. i check everyday, but i could see why some sites would do that. with a lot of people who might only check at work because they dont have a computer or whatever, so you wanna make sure he keep stuff to entertain them during the week, but i dont know, them stats sound flawed. its just a blog. i couldnt imagine no one not having an extra 15 minutes somewhere in their weekend.

    I read your blog because you update every day. The number one thing that drives me crazy about some blogs is they DON’T update on the weekends. When I am out and about if I am waiting somewhere on the weekend I use my iPhone to check the blogs. On weekends it’s like everything stops. When big stories happen on Friday I have to wait till Monday to get the story. I don’t think some bloggers want to work on the weekend. That along with they have advertising sponsors so they need to get those hits to keep that sponsor.

    Keep posting cause we here everyday.

  80. well I rather read the blog on the weekend but thats just because I got no time during the week, college and work takes all of my time. so when im home on the weekends i get to read all the updates and stuff on the blogs, but necole was right no one really updates blogs on the weekend because theyre busy doing other things, ltheyre living their lives and so they aint taking their time reading the blogs on the weekends but rather do it at work. i mean i could take my time to read the blogs during the week but i dont wanna be in a rush and hurry I wanna relax, take my time and enjoy all the new things written on the blogs. so the only thing i do during the week is twitter and facebook for quick updates

    Then again I read the blog whenever I can, I usually think the blog lack good topic overthe weekend I would expect some juices topic on the weekend but there never anything good to checkout or keep me interestered.

I work on computers for a living so on the weekend I dont even pull the laptop out unless I am trying to get info on what I am trying to do for the night. The same with Facebook and any other website. Well then again I am always on youtube 24/7. DAMN i wish I was the one who came up with that idea. I know they are making a killing!!!!!!

  86. Jermaine, I don’t know. Like, you’re the only person’s website I go too for Blogs. Basically you’re the only person’s blogs that I’m interested in and that I read… I guess this Site that I’m about too mention, which is Twitter, I know it isn’t a blog, but already gives you the updates… But on Twitter, when I get the update that you are about too post a Blog on GLOBAL14, then I just hop on this website! It doesn’t matter to me what day or time… It could be December 25, 2009 at 5:30am and I will still just pop-up and view the blog. It’s called dedication. Be dedicated to the blogs you read and comment on! 🙂

  87. I do read them every day, cause it’s just a habit. I’ll go to my Twitter, FaceBook, here, YouTube, & THEN do my work. Lol. Yes, I still get shit done, but I just go to those first. I might miss a weekend from being out & about with the crew, but the next time I get on, I’ll catch up from where I last left off.

But I do remember when Bow wow was about to tell us he signed to cash money on twitter he said that his management or whatever they said no because the press is not really open on the weekends so they said wait until monday and on monday all the blog sites were reporting that. But on the weekend it’s not alot of news like on concreteloop or Necolebitchie they are the two blogsites I vist daily. Sometimes Sandra Rose but I dont really like her cause of how she be talking about people I like and talking about our president she is a HATER Lol. But other than that every other blogsite is cool with me check them every day.

  90. There’s only a limited amount of blogs that I check on a daily basis & even if I’m out and about and busy during the regular week & on the weekends, I still make it a point to peep my head in just so that I don’t miss anything.
    JD, U really are 1 of the only blogs that keeps us updated EVERY DAY so kudos to you & don’t ever stop that. Even if the #’s ain’t the same, there are still those of us that keep it goin up in here, even if we are sometimes tardy to the party LOL! 😀

  91. I look into the industry everyday since I’m working and have been for years to get out there myself. I like to see where we’re headed trendwise and try to keep my music similar/different too so all news related is more than an interest to me it IS A LIFE
