goodiemobre

My favorite hip hop group of ALL times!!! I’m soooo there!
Atlanta hip-hop royalty is back, at least for one night. Fans of the legendary Goodie M.O.b will have one chance and one chance only to see Cee-Lo, Khujo Goodie, T-Mo Goodie and Big Gipp back in action. They recently announced plans for their “Remember Atlanta” concert which will also feature other un-named Dungeon family members. The concert will take place at the Masquerade in Atlanta on Saturday September 19, 2009. Doors for the event will open at 7:00 p.m. Goodie M.O.b veteran and Gnarls Barkley front-man, Cee-Lo, expressed his excitement20for the performance saying:
“The Goodie M.O.b Reunion is something we have collectively talked about doing for a long time. The people have called for it, and with the state of the union the way it is, the time is right.”
Remember Atlanta? How could we forget?! Tickets for the “Remember Atlanta” concert go on sale Saturday, August 1 through Ticketmaster.

  2. Gnarls Barkley is the creative genus from the group, he stands out from the rest, that’s why he went solo i believe.

  3. Rappers only rap about their car’s, money, bling, bicthes and fame now days. We’re the ones that help the rappers get were they are right now. So they gotta rub in their fans face because of that!!? That’s how much they don’t care for their fans, it’s all about their selffish selves. I’m 15 years old, when I was younger, I use to listen to new millenium music. Usually I never really paid any attention to lyrics even though the words were catchy. I didn’t wanna comprehend to it, to me and to any other kid, it was just fun to sing a long to. Also I like the beat, it was always cool to blast the music up in the hood. At first I find it cool, but as people get older, they get more wiser ok. now that I listen to the lyrics more carefully, it goes to show how black man and black women needs Juesus! They need role models, they don’t have that because they don’t have parents like some people do that has taught them morals, and values. Since than, I stop listening to music. I now listening to gospel. But gospel now is going in the wrong path as well. More ignorant writters in the music industry! The industry needs better song writters because today’s song writters suck!

  4. CAN ANY OF YOU RICH MF’S IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS COME OUT WITH ANYTHING THAT IS THOUGHT DRIVEN? HOW MUCH DANCING AND FANTISIES CAN WE PUSH, BUT WE WONDER WHY RECORD SALES ARE DOWN…HERE IS YOUR ANSWER…COME UP WITH A YOUNG GROUP TALKING ABOUT SERIOUS ISSUES…FROM THE SOUTH…AND YOU WILL BE BACK ON TOP……ITS ALL A CIRCLE…..WE ARE IN 1988..JJ FAD IS ON BET……NOW ENTERS X CLAN, CHUCK D…WE’RE ALL IN THE SAME GANG MOVEMENT….

WHEN YOU DIE NOBODY AIN’T GOING TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU HAD ANYWAY. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE IN YOUR COMMUNITY?

SO HOW YOU FEEL? (FRUSTRADED, IRRITADED, SOMETIMES I DON’T KNOW MYSELF, I BE TOO NUM….REAL ARTIST TAKING ABOUT REAL ISSUES…..HIP HOP!!!)

  9. Aww shoot! Who’s dat peepin in my window now! Pow! Nobody now! And with Cee Lo too! Good music news! I once heard their name actually stood for The Good Die Most Over Bullshit. Can anybody confirm?

  10. THEY WERE OK

  11. @ Nakita Benjamin

OK??? You must be a soulja boy fan…..

  12. OMG! GoodieMob held down my whole college experience. “Good die mostly over bullsh*t!” I gotta go. Real hiphop is making it’s way back. Goodie and Outkast was doing it big back when it wasn’t cool to be from the south. They are true lyricist of the south. If you don’t believe me check out that Inshallah and Live from the O.M.N.I. I was sooo disappointed when cee-lo did the gnarls barkley joint. Glad to see they can work it out.

  13. Nakita is smoking rocks!! Goodie MoB back! Mighty Mighty Dungeon Family SW Atlanta! “Put some fire on the ass end of that weed, cuz in the SWATS red hots dont drip of bleed” Ill be at this concert wearing some girbauds and a ben hill shirt. hollers.

  14. FUCK NO I AIN’T INTO SOULJA BOY SPOCKS, YOU MUST BE TRIPPING. @NorthDruidNinja, SHUT UP NINJA WANNABE! LOL! GOODIE MOB IS IIGHT TO ME OK, THAT’S MY OPINION. I DON’T SAY SHIT ABOUT YA OPINIONS BECAUSE MOST OF THE TIME I READ PEOPLE’S COMMENTS ON HERE, AND I DON’T NECESSARILY AGREE TO EVERY ONE OF YA COMMENTS SOMETIMES. IT’S NOT LIKE I SAID I HATED GOODIE MOB BECAUSE I DON’T, I LIKED THEIR MUSIC WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT. DON’T GET ME WRONG, MY COUS HAD THEIR SOUL FOOD ALBUM, ONE OF THE SONGS ON THERE THAT I REMEMBER IS “DIRTY SOUTH.” I NEVER SEEN THE VIDEO FOR IT, NOR I DIDN’T KNOW THEY WERE OUT AT THAT TIME, THEY JUST WASN’T ACTIVE IN THE 90’S BACK THAN IN MY OPINION. SINCE GNARLS BARKLEY LEFT THE GROUP TO PERSUE A SOLO CAREER BACK IN 99; YEAH I REMEMBER, BECAUSE I REMEMBER HE DID A SONG WITH LAURYN HILL BACK IN 99 CALLED, “DO YOU LIKE THE WAY,” SO OF COURSE I KNEW HE LEFT THE GROUP BECAUSE THE GROUP HAD A NEW MEMBER DURING THE SAME YEAR. SINCE THE YEAR 2000 CAME OUT, THEY STARTED TO SUCK WITHOUT GNARLS BARKLEY. THAT’S HOW I FEEL, I NO HATER, I SAY WHAT I FEEL.

  15. @Nakita Benjamin

I respect your opinion and the fact that for a person that doesn’t really like the group you know a lot about them…But how can you NOT like them? Did you listen to what they were talking about and what they were standing for? There is a reason why they are coming back now, LOOK AROUND???

The leaders of the music business are really followers and sack riders, because of this, they are scared to put out a group right now talking about the real issues. People like myself that still buy CD’s that actually have jobs, that actually grew up loving Hip Hop want to hear artist like this. I bet as soon as some white boy exc in New York or CA approves one group to come out talking about issues, then the rest of the sack riders will jump on board. THINK ABOUT IT PLEASE…In 2011 music will be talking about issues just like Goodie Mob…You can’t see it because you still in 2009… So just think you can get ready early Nakita Benjamin,,, Go get that first Goodie MOb CD!!

  16. This is going to be hot!!!

  17. Nakita, you need to chill out with your all caps lock ass. First of all, Goodie Mob has never had a new member. Second of all, quit referring to Cee Lo as Gnarls Barkley.

  18. Just like before black people will ignore the GOODIE MOB because they really don’t want to hear that type of music. Just think CEE-LO HAD to cross over to be heard and he can really sing and rap. It will good to hear them tell you motherfucker’s that G.W. BUSH & DICK CHENEY HOODWINKED the whole world with 9/11 and now you expect a blackman to fix it. The whole world is suffering because of them. But only blacks justify violence with this excuse, you have to know that no other race of people is more violent with each other than us. Why is this. How is it possible that the ETHOPIANS and other people of color come from dire fucking straits and make a life for themselves in the US. They stick together!! Black people need to realize that the days of the whiteman this or that is over, of course racism will always be around. But now they can say to you it is a blackman in the whitehouse so you can make it if you try. We know this to be different due to many reasons but they don’t give a shit about this. The shit that’s going on is so much bigger than race , i hate to be insensitive but this is what i see and what I know to be true. In 2000 when Bush stole the election I was saying then that he was going to fuck up the world , people were saying I was crazy! Yeah like a fucking fox i’m crazy. The kind of people to fight for change don’t exist anymore in the US while the rest of the world is fighting back . Talib , the PIMP LOOKING LIKE THE PREACHER, AND THE THE PREACHER LOOKING LIKE THE PIMP. Not all preachers!!

  19. @ Juan Austin

    Preach on Bro!!

  20. They were ok???? So, this is someone who obviously likes bs music. Goodie Mob had content and beats out the wazoo! They pushed boundaries. They were real music. The group did drop dramatically in content, creativity, relevance, and audience relatibility around the “world party” album, which is why Cee-Lo left; they started doing crappy dance, shake it, coon music (much like what soulja boy does). But, if they’re going to return to form, then I’d love to see it.

and i agree with you wholeheartedly JUAN AUSTIN. I’ve had people I work with say to me “yeah, I voted for President Obama. Maybe now that he’s in there, we can stop hearing about racism because it’s obviously over…” I love how they get to ignore all the atrocities because they had no choice; it was either him and Biden or a health risk and an idiot to run the country.

  21. people from dc love goodie mob

  22. I don’t know about anyone else but I am SO looking forward to them coming back. Underrated is an understatement. Happened to see Gipp last week at the Slightly Stoopid/Stephen Marley/Snoop Dogg show at Masquerade and someone I was with mentioned they were making a comeback. About time if you ask me!!

  23. U DON’T GOTTA BE FROM ATLANTA…lol..jp..but shyttttttt. I’m 18 n i luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv me sum goodie mob….they live as FUCC.lol

  24. @ SPOCKS AND @NorthDruidNinja LOOK!? WHEN I WAS GROWING UP IN UP STATE NEW YORK, I GREW UP LISTENING TO R&B MUSIC, GOSPEL MUSIC, POP MUSIC, DANCE MUSIC AND ROCK MUSIC. I LIKE ALL TYPES OF MUSIC. I WASN’T REALLY INTO RAP MUSIC AS MUCH AS MY COUSINS DID BECAUSE I DIDN’T FIND RAP MUSIC AS MUSIC. I HAVE ABOUT HUNDREDS OF COUSINS THAT ALWAYS THROW HOUSE PARTIES. THEY ALWAYS PLAY RAP MUSIC, AND ONE SONG THAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION WAS SNOOP DOG – WHAT’S MY NAME SONG. THAT SONG MADE ME WANNA LIKE RAP MUSIC BECAUSE THE BEATS BACK THAN WAS G-FUNK, AND I LOVE FUNK MUSIC LIKE CRAZY; BUT I COULDN’T COMPREHEND WHEN IT COMES TO RAP LYRICS. IT WAS EASY TO REMEMBER THE LYRICS BUT IT WASN’T LIKE I UNDERSTOOD THE LYRICS EITHER. SO REALLY, BACK IN 95 WHEN GOODIE MOB CAME OUT, I WASN’T A FAN OF THEM: I COULDN’T FUCKING RELATE TO THEIR MUSIC LIKE HELLO! I HAVEN’T EXPERIENCE THOSE THAT EXPERIENCE. TO ME, THEY SOUNDED LIKE EVERY RAP BEAT AT THE TIME. UNTIL I GOT OLDER, AND I CAN RELATE TO SHIT, THAT’S WHEN I UNDERSTAND THE LYRICS. AT THE TIME I WAS A TEEN, A LOT OF BAD SHIT ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME, I END UP HAVING BI-POLAR DISORDER BECAUSE OF IT. I HAD TO GROW UP TOO FAST, LIFE WASN’T EASY ONCE I HAD TO DEPEND ON MYSELF! I WAS A MESSED UP KID WITH LOW SELF ESTEEM, AND LOOKING BACK TO THEM 90’S ALBUMS THAT I COLLECTED FOR SO MANY YEARS, I STARTED TO UNDERSTAND THE LYRICS AND THAT GOT ME INTO WRITTING LYRICS SINCE I WAS 13. THAT’S WHY I APPRECIATE 90’S MUSIC BECAUSE 90’S MUSIC HELP ME DEAL WITH MY PROBLEMS. 90’S MUSIC WAS THE SHIT AND STIL IS LOL. BUT GOODIE MOB, I DIDN’T OWN THEIR CD’S, MY COUSIN HAVE THEIR ALBUMS. I DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ABOUT BESIDE THEY FROM THE DIRTY SOUTH. THE ONLY RAP ALBUM I OWN IS DA LA SOUL, THE FUGEES, DIGABLE PLANETS, COMMON, THE ROOTS, OUTKAST, MOS DEF, MISSY ELLIOT, SOULS OF MISCHIEF AND JERMAINE DURPRI. SINCE JAY Z CAME OUT, THE RAP GAME WASN’T THE SAME NO MORE. THAT’S WHEN MUSIC VIDEO’S WERE GETTING RONCHY AND SHIT. MY MOM DIDN’T WANT ME WATCHING THAT SHIT, SHE BANED ME FROM LOOKING AT RAP VIDEO’S AT THE TIME. LOL! ONLY R&B MUSIC WAS ACCEPTABLE. I WATCHED MUSIC VIDEO’S ALL MY LIFE, BUT BACK IN 97, EVERYTIME A RAP VIDEO COMES ON, MY DAD CHANGES THE CHANNEL AND THAN WHEN IT’S DONE PLAYING, MY DAD PUTS IT BACK ON BET. LOL! BUT WHEN I’M HOME ALONE WITH MY TWO SIMBLINGS, THAT’S WHEN I GOT TO SEE THE RAP VIDEO’S, AND MAN IT’S DEGRADING! I’M ALMOST FUCKING 21 YEARS OLD, I’M SO HAPPY THAT I GOT TO SEE AND BE APART OF THE 90’S CRAZE. IF I’M A 13 YEARS OLD RIGHT NOW, I WOULD BE SO DEPRESS BECAUSE MUSIC SUPPOSE TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL BETTER. BUT LISTENING TO TODAY’S CRAP, IT’S JUST NOT FARE FORREAL.

I HAVEN’T LISTEN TO GOODIE MOB FOR A LONGASS TIME, SO WHAT I’M GONNA DO IS LOOK UP THEIR SONGS, AND LISTEN TO THE LYRICS. THAN I’LL LET YA KNOW WHAT I THINK IIGHT!

I KNOW 90’S RAP MUSIC HAD A POSSITIVE MESSAGE. RAPPERS THAT DISCUSS ABOUT THE STREETS, AND HOW IT WAS LIKE IN THE STREETS YOU KNOW. BUT RAP MUSIC IN 90’S DIDN’T BRING UP OTHER TOPICS THAT GIRLS GONE THROUGH, ONLY BECAUSE THEY NOT GIRLS. LOL FEMALE RAPPERS DON’T EVEN RAP ABOUT ANYTHING IMPORANT BESIDES SEX. IT’S LIKE THEY DON’T WANNA GET TOO PERSONAL. MOST SONGS THAT I HEARD IN THE MID 90’S RAPS ABOUT THEMSELVES TRYING TO MAKE IT OUT OF THE GHETTO JUST TO PERSUE A MUSIC CAREER AND TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE FOR THEIR FAM. BUT NOT ALL RAPPERS SUPPORT THEIR COMMUNITY, ONLY A FEW. NOW DAY’S RAPPERS ARE SELFFISH AND THEY HAVE TO RUB IT IN OUR FACE THAT THEY NOW RICH AND WERE STILL POOR. I’M SORRY, I DON’T SUPPORT PEOPLE LIKE THAT RIGHT NOW. BUT WHAT ABOUT THEIR PERSPECTIVE IN LIFE? MOST RAPPERS OUT RIGHT NOW TAKES AVENTAGE OF THAT OPPORTUNITY NOW THAT THEIR SUCCESSFUL YOU FEEL ME? THEY WOULD SPEND THEIR MONEY LIKE IT’S CRACK, IT’S DISGUSTING. TODAY’S MUSIC ONLY RAP ABOUT MONEY, AND OTHER BULL SHIT IS’NT COOL, AND THAT’S NOT TEACHING PEOPLE IN THE HOOD TO BETTER THEMSELVES IN A POSITIVE WAY. THAT’S HOW I FEEL ABOUT TODAY’S MUSIC. THERES TOO MANY IGNORANT RAPPERS IN THE INDUSTRY NOW DAYS.

  25. Nakita has anyone ever said this to you!! LIKE A PLATE OF YAMS WITH EXTRA SYRUP, A BROWN STALLION HORSE WITH SKATES ON ya know. SHE WAS FINE!!

  26. Yeah Goodie Mob is the shit, how the fuck did I bypass their music for so long? Hmm, don’t know. Don’t remember obviously. I look at the music video’s on youtube. I checked out Beautiful Skin, Cell therapy, Soul Food, They Don’t Dance No Mo’, Black Ice best quality, Thought Process, and Git Up Get Out for the first time. No wonder they weren’t one hit wonders. lol! Their music is creative, real, and powerful. I can diffently relate because it’s like that from where i’m at, but worser. Theres only two songs that I know from them and that is “DirtY sOUth”, and “SOUL FOOD.” which I remember them songs being played on the radio; but I never gave it a chance that’s all. So don’t get angry and shit because someone say’s they were ok. It’s my fault, I shouldn’t say anything if I didn’t know their music well enough. MY BAD IIGHT! lol! It’s probably because they look “WERD” that’s why I didn’t wanna be a fan, it’s like that with Soulja Boy. If soulja boy is werd looking, no girl would give soulja boy a chance right? It’s REALLY ignorant if people only support people’s music for their looks right? YEAH OF COURSE.

CHECK THIS OUT. THIS WILL EXPLAIN WHY RAP MUSIC IS THE WAY IT IS TODAY.
